Want to know why the entire AFC North are +.500?

They play the AFC South and the NFC South this year. The Raiders would have a shot at .500 with that schedule.

Prior to today there was a ludicrous scenario where a 5-11 team could have won the NFC South. A few years back the NFC West was chronic, but not quite that bad.

AFC South

Colts 8-4

Texans 6-6

Titans 2-10

Jaguars 2-10

Colts Remaining Schedule

@ Cleveland (7-5)

Houston

@ Dallas (8-4)

@ Tennessee

Texans Remaining Schedule

@ Jacksonville

@ Indianapolis

Baltimore (7-5)

Jacksonville

Colts winning last night has kept the pressure on the Texans, but still not impossible. A Browns win next week, and the Texans presumably winning against the Jags puts it back to a one game lead. Colts beat the Texans 33-28 in their first meeting (@Houston). A Texan's win in Indianapolis would blow it wide open then. Big "if's" to be fair.

Or alternatively, the colts win this week and texans lose = Colts into playoffs. Much simpler scenario. :P

That's true. :P

IMO we'll beat the Jags and then lose to the Colts a week later though. And that'll be that. We'll get the 8-8 finish I predicted though.

Can't see us catching the Colts now. Pretty sure they have the tiebreak at the moment, so we'd have to win out and they'd have to lose out.

AFC South
Colts 9-4
Texans 7-6
Titans 2-10
Jaguars 2-10

Colts Remaining Schedule
Houston
@ Dallas (8-4)

Our alternative is that we're remarkably still in the hunt in the wild-card race, it's a long shot but it's still possible with the way the schedules have worked out. We'd have to beat the Ravens, and rely on the Chargers losing a couple of those games (i.e. Broncos and one other). Still need that win over the Colts too though. Massive game for us on Sunday either way.

All in all, the wild-card race in the AFC is setting up to be a cracker, with one win separating 8 teams, the Bengals only 1 draw further ahead at the top of the AFC North, with the Colts only 1 win further ahead. Only the Patriots and the Broncos look set to go through for sure, with only 4 teams officially out of it (Raiders, Titans, Jags & Jets). AFC getting mighty exciting.

In the hunt:

Steelers (8-5) : @Falcons, Chiefs, Bengals

Chargers (8-5): Broncos, @49ers, @Chiefs

---------------------

Ravens (8-5): Jags, @Texans, Browns

Texans (7-6): @Colts, Ravens, Jags

Dolphins (7-6): @Pats, Vikings, Jets

Chiefs (7-6): Raiders, @Steelers, Chargers

Bills (7-6): @Packers, Raider, @Patriots

Browns (7-6): Bengals, @Panthers, @Ravens

And in the race for the number 1 pick.....

1- Buccaneers (2-11)

2- Raiders (2-11)

3- Jaguars (2-11)

4- Titans (2-11)

5- Jets (2-11)

6- Redskins (3-10)

7- Giants (4-9)

8- Panthers (4-8-1)

Buccs wouldn't mind having the 1st pick as it means they could get Marriotta
