Post-Split Fixtures

Recommended Posts

Would expect TV games will be included. Could be live BBC ALBA games in there too.

Craig has done a set of fixtures on Twitter that involves more changes but avoid Aberdeen (already in credit in terms of extra home games) and Celtic (who always get 19/19) gaining an extra home match. Instead it is Inverness that get the extra home game, I assume because they have the least to play for with looking safe in third.

His changes are:

United vs Inverness

Celtic vs Inverness

Aberdeen vs Dundee

St Johnstone vs Dundee

I'm not sure I'd agree with the suggestion that ICT are safe in third. If we win our two games in hand (one in hand on ICT and the other against ICT) then we draw level with them prior to the split. That being the case it would seem rather unfair to switch our final game against them to Inverness and give them 20 homes fixtures. The only two positions in the top six which are as good as settled are 1st and 2nd.

Aberdeen due 2 home games.

We seem to bookend our season starts and finishes at Pittodrie but don't think this is likely unless we are given that 20/18 split again.

Would have thought our game with Celtic will be one of the earlier ones, and I predict a last day visit to Tannadice or Inverness.

Aberdeen are due to play Celtic, Dundee and St J at home.

We lost out fixture wise last season..

Could you imagine the outcry if Celtic slip up and goes to the last day (very unlikely). Celtic will say it is unfair that Aberdeen got an extra home game blah blah blah so for that reason we are going to get 19 homes 19 away games and give it to someone else.

if there is a title race (which is doubtful of course) giving Celtic a third trip to Inverness is an interesting shout.

You could argue with trips to Dens, Tannadice, Pittodrie and Inverness that Celtic have to earn the title yet

Believe that Killie have ask the SPFL to give them a home game on the weekend of the 25/26 for the 50 anniversary celebrations

That is true. But this probably means we will be given an away trip to Dingwall instead.

The SPFL and both clubs might fancy it being a bit nearer the end of the season with both teams battling it out for 3rd.

BT or Sky might want to show it, and they need to find a (un)suitable time and date

Can see us getting 3 home games despite only being due 2 - Celtic need to make a 3rd trip to either us, Perth or Inverness and Aberdeen will need to come to either ourselves or Perth again. Likely we will get one of them of again.
