As pointed out, they've tried and failed 3 times in 2 years to qualify, all against sides which will be cannon fodder in the Group stages. They just simply are not good enough to win against sides of that level. If Scotland's best side can't cope against sides like that it shows how poor our league is. Aberdeen, easily our second best side, can't even make the last qualifying round of the Europa League. I get that people want to have a pride about our game and stick up for it, and that's not to say that our game isn't entertaining and that we get good crowds - which we do, but in terms of overall quality your head must be in the sand if you think we aren't terrible. Look at our results, look at our co-efficient. Aberdeen beat a team they weren't expected to beat. Celtic were seconds away from taking a 3-1 advantage to a second leg against a team they should have walked all over. Who are 'we' in this situation? Scotland? Can't be helped that our best team made a complete arse of it. That's down to individual mistakes. Why should there be introspection from clubs with fractions of the resources available like yours or mine? The national team are doing fine.
