Knocked the ball about reasonably well without ever really causing us problems. Had a few shots from distance in the first half which Mullin delt with comfortably. Thanks for that. Good luck for the season ahead it is going to be very tight in the Championship.

As above, no one really stood out, some decent enough play without causing us too much hassle, Kennedy looked lively but didn’t offer much, the number 9 upfront was poor, 2 or 3 opportunities he had which he done nothing with. A good work out all round for both teams though getting up to speed.
Chippyminton
Pretty much agree with everything said above. We must also remember that these are laddies who, in some cases, only rocked up at Cappielow a few days ago. But having watched Dougie’s ability to consistently get the absolute best tunes out of his players, I’m confident that the upcoming season will be a good one for Ton. Based on watching YT videos and on the flashes I saw today - given the right club environment, attitude, workrate, commitment, coaching and Imrie-level career management - I believe that our Mr. Reynolds seriously has the potential to become the Championship’s next Dipo Akinyemi. Screenshot this post for future reference. It will either prove me as P&B’s most gifted clairvoyant, or prove me to be its most delusional and epic chump. I’m happy to take either. Edit - George who? port-ton
He didn’t look like it was his natural position but Reynolds made some intelligent bended runs in behind from the striker position which we could have found him with if we had been more clinical with our passing. His game intelligence seemed so much better than someone like quitongo who has similar attributes. Davies looked decent as well and looks very comfortable pressing from the front which is promising. the lack of height in attacking areas was noticeable and it must be said that it was most stark in the second half when Baird came on for broadfoot. I thought broadfoot, the trialist centre back, Gillespie and Mullen linked well in the first half but when Baird came on and Gillespie came off at half time (from what I remember Gillespie went off at half time) we lost control of the game and Baird was still playing as if we had Oakley and Muirhead to lump balls to.
TheGoon
I’d still expect us to bring in a traditional centre forward at some point. Could still do with a focal point to work off up there, even if we’re not shelling balls at him like Oakley.

Cowshed
Left back trialist playing well minus that dodgey pass overall he’s looked comfortable enough, Davies looking alright getting involved in a lot of the play but struggling to hold the ball up well enough when ball goes to feet good movement in the box for the header thought he’d scored ! Ali fkn Crawford aw jeez Edited* Crawford done alright Edited July 2 by Cowshed
GMFC89
Another good workout tonight. Actually thought Alloa played really well and troubled us in the first half. Davies unlucky not to score with a good header off the bar. Blues should’ve buried his effort again off the bar. The young boy on trial in the middle of the park is nowhere near good enough for a deal and should be thanked and moved on. Would be happy enough to take on Delaney at LB think once he’s up to speed and the rustiness has cleared he’ll be just fine. Reynolds is much better out wide rather than through the middle. Would like to see us take on a Oakley like striker as I reckon we’ll miss that presence up top when the real stuff starts.
Colkitto
Another good work out. Definitely a change on how we going to play this season. Ali Crawford came on in the 2nd half and actually didn't play too bad to be fair. Went off injured and we went down to 10 men. Davies is not a CF in the same mold as Oakley. Think he could play off a striker like him. Unlucky with a header that hit the top of the bar. The LB had a better game and will improve with more game time (if he's signed) The trialist in midfield looks miles off it I'm afraid. Lyall looked good and so did Ballantine . Moffat looked a bit rusty but came onto a game and eventually scored after a defensive mix up. Not too bad a game and Alloa looked decent in spells too.

Dunning1874
20 minutes ago, D'Jaffo said: I’d be far more concerned that one of them is Zak Delaney tbh. We haven't already watched Zak Delaney be one of the worst players in Morton's history in the last 18 months, so I'll stick with praying that Crawford is only getting training facilities to keep fit. Even if we had a Greg Kiltie level of unrealistically brilliant signing for that area of the park it would be hard to justify with the number of players we already have, so there's surely no way we can be wasting a wage on that fucking charlatan.
TheGoon
Yeah, there’s no possible justification for signing Crawford, even if we were lacking options in that area.
