If you cant get that important detail right, don't expect to be taken seriously. Just to be clear, nobody is found innocent in a Scottish criminal trial. At best they are found not guilty, which means the prosecution haven't proven their case beyond reasonable doubt. The jury could have regarded the defendant as pure as the driven snow and the victim of calumnious and scurrilous allegations; at the other end they could have regarded the defendant as dodgy as fk but the prosecution were just short of the evidence needed to make them sure. There are many criminal trials in which the jury believe there's a more than 50% chance the defendant is guilty, but that's not enough in a criminal trial. Salmond did indeed walk from court a free man, but everyone is entitled to form their own view of the behaviour that he admitted under oath and they can give whatever weight they like to the evidence of the witnesses. I don't agree with Pep, but he's entitled to his view and certainly doesn't go about calling people "Scum". One claiming that it was Party business whilst the other stating that it was Government business. Anyone that thinks that the two of them never discussed a meeting in their own home where the former First Minister discussed an investigation into his behaviour.
