Don't know if it was mentioned here before: but since the Lowland League campaign started a week past Saturday the BBC fixtures, league tables etc. were showing newly relegated East Stirlingshire as "East Stirlingshire Clydebank" - being the name of the club for a single season at Kilbowie over 50 years ago.

That is truly incredible.

Somebody must have grassed as fixtures and table now showing East Stirlingshire.

If I was to guess:
* whoever was responsible for updating their systems wouldn't have a clue who East Stirlingshire are
* with them being relegated to LL they wouldn't already be appearing in the listing, as they had in SPFL2 up until now - as "East Stirling" [sic] IIRC
* if they use PA database/similar there'd be an "East Stirlingshire Clydebank" entry connected to their results in the 1960s
* they selected that instead of "East Stirling"

It's still incredibly sloppy, though.

That said I'd rate getting 7 out of 8 full-time scores wrong as worse.

A few of us had a wee rant about that at the time. For it to sit like that for so long is remarkable. I'd rather they were honest and just didn't mention anything outside the top division TBH, as this is actually more insulting.

Yes, that seems like a plausible, if convoluted, explanation.

It is sloppy but as you say, certainly no worse than getting loads of scores wrong.

Once more, it's this chronic lack of care.

I'm guessing that Darren is reading the "Magennis from Kilmarnock" bit in isolation, kinda missing the point that he's been signed from that club.

Who knows though?

Yes, I read the headline.

Derek Ferguson and Stephen Thompson on the radio last night claiming they would never cheat and Scottish players are more honest.

I'd rather our pundits were a bit more honest and didn't come out with this b*llshit.

Andy Walker is quite honest about the fact he sees nothing wrong with players going down in the box after any contact.

He is a w****r though.

For starters, Thompson had an EBT...
