Myview
Decent article in Daily Record regarding Rangers formation/attacking system. Confirms my thought about asking Halliday to cover three four five players positions sometimes unbelievably at the same time which we all know is impossible! Hibs result last night and recent results confirms that they are a good side and are serious contenders to win the Championship.
shull
Yes really, try and chill out a bit and you'll get on better mate.I'll take a few upsets in the short term if we benefit in the long term.Sorry to hear that you're upset.
Myview
Decent article and the record don't go. The way people are going on Rangers bombarded the Saints with the two full-backs overlapping at every attack, facts are between them the full-backs got to and crossed from the byline less than 5 times. They constantly played out of position and when you play a half decent team you get found out. Your last point first. Agreed, and I think very few would disagree that any team being so offensive against a team in a higher league are looking for trouble. As for getting to the byeline is a thing of the past. In the modern game if a team are going to play on the counter which Saints did, teams sit deeper, leaving no space behind them and the byeline so the number of times players get to the byeline nowadays is virtually nil. More dangerous crosses come in from deeper positions. Remember as well Saints superbly doubled up on both full backs greatly reducing their space. Also note that Travernier and Wallace more often now don't run wide they run between the full back and centre back. Amazingly they have scored double figures between them this season and I recognise it is v Championship opposition. however Travernier scored a fantastic goal on Tuesday v SPFL opposition. Edit: Another point if a player gets to the byeline it can only be an 'assist' however a more central run can result in a shot and a 'goal'. So getting to the byeline now is not seen as the be end and end all. Travernier's goal is an example.
tree house tam
Just face facts, your team isn't of a standard to genuinely trouble Premiership opposition yet. The only reason you played better in the second half was that Saints let you, as the game was already won.

Myview
Our first goal came from O'Halloran getting to the byeline. Of course it does happen but my point was when a team is sitting deep to counter. As Rangers play the exact opposite to this every opposition team this season as managed to achieve this as Travenier and Wallace are usually at the other end of the park. tree house tam
We were backs to the wall defending the whole game, wave after wave of attacks, it was relentless. If we'd attacked you wave after wave we would have scored at least 20, EVERY time we attacked we looked dangerous. Every man and his dog knows how Saints like to play, except that loaf of a manager you now have. We went easy on you mate, Tommy dusnae need a magic hat. RandomGuy.
We were backs to the wall defending the whole game, wave after wave of attacks, it was relentless. You realise theres a middle ground? We sat deep then countered in numbers, neither "parking the bus" nor "attacking" football. As has been said, we're absolutely brilliant at that style of football, and had destroyed Hamilton with a similar approach just a week before, if your arrogant manager had bothered to watch us at all you likely wouldnt have had such a pathetic, mewling performance and might have actually troubled us at some point. It was genuinely one of the most comfortable performances I've seen from us, and we barely left second gear.

bennett
Arrogant manager? His job is turn things around and rebuild at Rangers, which is what he is doing. Nothing arrogant there. In 2010 St Johnstone put four goals past Walter smiths team, every so often shit happens and you move on.
