Jarkko Wiss
It was salt & Lineker, cheese & Owen and smokey Beckham in my day.
Todd_is_God
Same mysterious hands behind the great marathon conspiracy and whatever the f**k cif is. Jif changed to Cif because foreigners couldn't say Jif, and Hif is a shite name for a product.

Zen Archer (Raconteur)
Okey Dokey, listen up, this is what everyone remembers. This is what happened and why Walkers deny changing the colour of the packaging, they didn't, they rebranded the name and in the process changed the colour of the packaging. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Smith%27s_Snackfood_Company Smiths was later owned by biscuit company Nabisco, BSN and finally sold to American company PepsiCo in the 1990s. Subsequently Pepsico withdrew the brand, in favour of popular British brand Walkers, which had been heavily marketed in a campaign using ex-footballer turned television presenter Gary Lineker. Many of the products previously owned by Smiths became labelled as Walkers, although there are still several Smiths branded crisps.
Cardinal Richelieu
I thought it they changed their most popular flavour to blue cos that was the strip of Leicester City, where they are based.
Eednud
Golden Wonder Cheese & Ingin' were in a brown packet when they first came out in the 60's.
tamthebam
Having just googled KP crisps I didn't know KP were still going as a brand- they just don't make ordinary crisps anymore. Brannigan's, Space Raiders, Roysters, Discos yes, but not KP crisps.. Note PROPER green colour for cheesy onion. Walkers are c***s.
mattydfc
You get them in the shop in ninewells. They're out of date but still worth it
milton75
I like these beasts by KP: The Beef once are decent too, although you do run the risk of piercing the roof of your mouth with them.
Fide
And then we have these fuckers, entering the fray, bold as f**k. I can only imagine the orange/ yellow at the bottom and top is to signify sunshine, which helps the potatoes grow, whilst the white in the middle of the packet is some sort of existential philosophical statement/ Orwellian observation on the vaccuous sterility of life. Or something.
bob the tank
Golden Wonder green, Walkers blue for cheese and onion, and the reverse for S and V. Close the thread
KyleKTID
I can remember S and V being Blue and Cheese and onion being green for Walkers.
ArmadaleKillie
Yeah, I was sure I remember them swapping the colours about however I have found some disturbing evidence of an image that is supposedly from the early 80's. It appears I may have some form of memory problem... perhaps the beef I ate in the 1980's?
Shandon Par
What are your colloquial collective names for cheapy corn crisps like Space Raiders, Chipstick etc? I'm sure I heard Kevin Bridges give them a name but despite listening a few times I just couldn't make out the word he used to describe them.
gavin_3110
They absolutely used to be the other way about, can remember the wave of confusion when they changed them. Anyone else intended to buy a nice bag of ready salted and come away with tomato sauce flavour?
Fide
Unrelated I know, but these are the absolute tits:
EdgarusQPFC
I can remember the day I bought a green packet of walkers crisps and being disgusted to discover they were the evil Salt and Vinegar rather than my beloved Cheese and Onion, growing up on Golden Wonder I expected green to equal Cheese and onion.
Shuggie_Murray7
Pretty sure you used to get tomato ketchup and ready salted crisps that both came in red packets. The number of times I accidentally ended up with ready salted is scary.
Dazzle
Cheese and onion should only be walkers and Salt and vinegar should only ever be golden wonder. If you eat it any differently your dead to me.
