Your always safe being on the opposite side of an issue from Novak Djokovic, but Piers Morgan certainly confirms it.

The WTA telling someone that their mental health doesnt matter, and theres no wiggle room for a workaround that allows them to compete, in this day and age is a pure minter.

It's fairly common knowledge that Novak Djokovic is a fucking wanker.  I'm surprised more people haven't said it publicly.  Think only Kyrgios has gone public saying as much so far.  Perhaps when he retires he'll get deservedly buried for his daft comments and stances.

When did Diego Schwartzman become good? He was a complete mid carder as far as I knew.
A solid 2/3rd rounder at most at the slams.

Djokovic went full on Drago there after losing the first two sets. 6-1, 6-0 and the Italian retired with an injury at 4-0 in the fifth.
Musetti looks like something special though. Think we will be seeing a lot more of him.

Agree with the above. Musetti played really good stuff the first 2 sets, but it's almost as if Djokovic said "Shit, 2 sets down, better start playing." Will be one to watch in future though.

Also feel a bit for Koepfer, played really well Saturday against an, admittedly, under par Federer, lost to him, only for Federer to withdraw from the tournament. Think Koepfer will also be worth keeping an eye on going forward.

Medvedev with a ridiculous underarm serve match point down to Tsitsipas at 5-6 in the third.
Smacked back down the line easily and the Greek is in the semi. Medvedev is a talented player but don’t think he’s got the head for the majors.

He’s always been a clay court specialist.  Was a set and a break up against Rafa in 2018 French Open before the rains opened up, in the colder damp conditions Rafa turned it around and won in four.

Pretty sure he’s made a final of a clay masters and made a couple of hard court slam QFs in the last couple of years.  Rafa had his most difficult match against him in the semi final last year.  Should be more comfortable tomorrow.

The spin, depth and height elevation of the ball from Tsitsipas is almost Rafa like.  Medvedev really gets stuck tactically on the natural surfaces, makes lots of different adjustments and just gets lost. You can see why he hates clay.

I may be misremembering, but is it Djokovic who holds the record for the number of opponents who have retired against him? I remember it being a ridiculously high number for whoever it is who holds the record for that stat. During the years Murray was at his peak I can remember watching Djokovic make mince meat of some opponents in the ATP events and early rounds of the majors.

I tried to Google that to see if I was correct but can’t find anything, but what I did see is a stat saying Federer has never once retired from a match in his 20 year career. That’s absolutely insane, you would think with the amount of matches he has played in that time he would have went over on his ankle or fell and bashed his knee at least once. I go over on my ankle about once a week when I’m playing golf, and Federer hasn’t done it at all in 20 years worth of tennis matches.

Novak and Rafa both through to the semis in four sets then. Both got tougher tests than expected, Rafa lost his first set at the French since 2019 or something. Berretini served well but Novak ground him down in the end.
Winner of their semi plays Tsitsipas or Zverev in the final. Going to be yet another major for the old guard I think.
