No doubt about that. Much harder to win a slam that isn’t your home one where you’ve got virtually 100% backing from the crowd on every point. It did occur to me that he might do that, although you also get the sense that he knows he's not competitive anymore in the singles, so maybe the doubles at Wimbledon and the Olympics will do him. I remember that brilliant 2012 USO win mainly for how windy it was, and the camera going to Sean Connery in the stand quite a lot. Must rewatch it sometime.

KirkieRR
Really enjoyed Sinner-Berattini. Some great stuff there. This is the first non-Covid year we've not gone for a day at Wimbledon since 2016. To think we didn't even apply for tickets when there's a Scotfest on Centre Court with Jacob Fearnley up against Jock Ovitch and the Murray Gang in the doubles.

Lex
And he's taken a set off Djokovic. He's two one down still, but well in the match. Djokovic clearly not moving right, unsurprisingly given he had surgery a couple of weeks ago.

And he's performing excellent, going toe to toe with Djokovic in the rally's and beating him. Regardless of how this goes, he's been awesome

MarkoRaj
People question why Kroos is retiring at the top of his game but when you watch Murray these days it's the perfect argument for it. It's a shame that he got injured at his peak and wasn't able to retire anywhere close to the top of his game. What a career though, any clips of him winning or losing grand slams will always make me greet a wee bit. Should they not wait until he's actually finished though before the send off?
MP_MFC
That video coincided with someone cutting onions in this place. An absolute legend of sport is oor Andy. Greatest Scottish sportsperson of all time. Not even close.
peasy23
I remember the double vomit match in New York well as I saw that live, but that's the first I've heard of the throwing up in the taxi after winning Wimbledon in 2016.
MP_MFC
A lot of sick chat on centre court that was….unusual.
Chripper
Enjoy your retirement, champ. A true Scottish great. Tennis will be a lot boring without having someone to cheer.
Jives Miguel
Greatest Scottish sportsman I'll ever see. A pleasure and inspiration to be able to watch and support him for 20 years. The only regret would be that we have f**k all tennis legacy to show for it in Scotland. Why do we not have a proper tennis facility up here? I think Murray's only been able to play Davis Cup and Challenger events up here. He must be one of the few, if not the only, grand slam winner who was never able to play in a ATP level tournament in his home country. The LTA or whoever the f**k is in control has fucked it big time for us. Could be talking out my hole here, but it seems like they're only arsed about tennis for their fellow toffs in the south of England. He’s not a doubles player he’s not going to do anything in a competitive sense with Raducanu either. These doubles matches are a farewell testimonial. -
