Nightmare
I read that today was the first time since joining the tour that Raonic hasn't served an ace when playing a full match. He previously had a 'no aces' performance against Berdych but he retired halfway through in that one. Kind of explains the score. Don't see Andy getting past Nadal, but it's been a better Monte Carlo than he usually has.

Nightmare
He let Nadal's constant cheating get to him. It's a mental flaw he's always had, and whilst it's understandable when a guy is taking longer than the limit on every single point, he's shown that he can be the better player, so he really just needs to try and block Nadal's time violations out.

Diamonds are Forever
Why can't they just have an average shot clock where at the end of every game if your average is over 25 seconds you lose a point on your next service game, or something along those lines. We get the data on TV, surely the umpire can get this. The main argument against the time penalty is that after a long rally you need more time to recover, which the average over a game would sort. It doesn't work the way it is at thr moment, either apply the rule properly and in a fair, consistent way, or don't have it at all.

He's not dead yet! A lawyer would represent Nadal.

Loki
I remember when Berdych was Murray's kryptonite. He was well behind in the head to head but now you just can't see Berdych beating him. Murray is too smart for him. A rematch against Nadal would be pretty good to watch at the altitude in Madrid.

Does an altitude of 600m or so even make a difference ?
Loki
The ball will move further as the air is thinner, there is less air resistance so the ball doesn't spin as often. This means that the likes of Nadal has to change his string tensions to get the ball to spin the way he wants. The semi final line up is complete. Nishikori Vs Djokovic and Murray Vs Nadal. A Murray Djokovic matchup on clay would be a good Sunday's entertainment.
