So they bought the seats, the frame and the roof, but aye, they didn't move the part of Paisley it was built on so they didn't actually buy the stand

The roof frame only, seats and roof itself would have been added on top of the WDE, which would have remained the WDE. The WDE wasn't getting demolished to move an entire new stand into place so no, we didn't in fact "buy a stand" then.

A petty difference perhaps, but entirely in order. As opposed to your shoebox after just a single decade of operation.

Why did st mirren sack Danny Lennon? I'm assuming the whole board have resigned since then?

Our league form in the season after winning the league cup was dreadful, and although we eventually finished 8th that was because we won 3 of our last 6 games to save our skin. His recruitment was utterly shambolic following the departure of Austin McPhee from the coaching team.

The decision to replace him wasn't wrong IMO, but the decision to replace him with Tommy Craig was barking. At the time they then removed Craig, which was after about a dozen games, the board were in very advanced talks to sell the club to an Argentinian consortium and the thinking was they would want to bring in their own man so best not recruit anyone else. Gary Teale looked after things for a while, in limbo, then the Argie deal collapsed. We then appointed Teale as manager to the end of that season and instantly sold our best player of that campaign, Kenny McLean, to balance the books.

The rest is history.

And yes, that board all left the club in the summer just gone, selling the majority shareholding to Gordon Scott who in turn is committed to selling the majority shareholding to the supporters within the next 10 years.

Going back a bit now but looking at Div's claim that the Midden team has "some good players" or has a decent bunch as a forward line...

Claiming some players were good due to Scotland U-21 or Scotland caps is nonsense.

Kyle Hutton's U-21 team mates included Jamie Barclay and Ross Perry. Rocco Quinn played with Kevin McCann, Steven Lennon and Greg Cameron. Other current Midden players played for the U-21s alongside the likes of Jamie McCunnie, David Robertson and Steven Watt. It's no barometer of success. All it is is something you can use to make stupid managers think yer good and sign ye and make stupid fans think yer a good signing despite all other evidence showing the opposite. And if a Scotland cap is all the evidence ye need that yer good enough why not sign Rab Douglas, Craig Beattie, Gavin Rae, Garry O'Connor, Stephen Crainey, Derek Riordan, Steven Saunders or Garry Kenneth to get ye our of yer current predicament? They're all still playing.

And yer strikers are pish.

Shankland, Gallacher and Clarkson, between them, have 0 league goals. Sutton's got 3 this year which, added to last year's tally, gives him 4 goals in 18 months.

Hardie's got 3 this season and just under a goal every two games in his career, which isn't to be sniffed at... but he's leaving in a month.

I admire yer optimism Div but yer humped.

I do not admire Div's laughable 'optimism': that is the factual basis by which they are going to get royally fucked this season.

Riordan could be one of the star free agents available to them; doubt that he's on LinkedIn or has a CV though.

Well, this is awkward.

I've always liked to imagine the stand is sitting completely built with dusty old bedsheets covering it in the chairmans garden.
