Not in the slightest; the club changed its own name in the 1990s, which demonstrates how little such minor details actually matter. Anyone who gets so hung up about a badge can't have any credible achievements attached to their club - the cap certainly fits for Ayr's downtrodden fanbase. Other clubs can fall foul of the law if the colours used are deemed unacceptable by the Lord Lyon. I doubt that you've actually become a competent legal expert in the seven days since your club was actually shopped - beforehand you were nowhere to be seen when Airdrie fans were agitating on the issue - so it's safe to say that others should take your declarations of legality or not with a shovel of salt.
