The Blue Brasilion
Just as well Brett etc would not get in to the townie side, would not want to see decent players being made redundant when admin 2 comes along.

Poet of the Macabre
Nah not really. It is gonna happen though, leopards spots and all that. Yes, we've been in administration once in our history so stands to reason it will definitely happen again. I guess you've got to hang onto these things when your own team is inferior in every single way.
NotAFan
Norrie tribute immaculately observed. Sporting end-to-end game between two decent teams. No penalty, Spence acknowledged it. Pars pen stonewaller. Don't know what Kenny was thinking about. With a much smaller budget than Dunfermline, Cowden competed well. Pars fans pleading with the ref to blow the full-time whistle. The 7-1 defeat at EEP was torture. Colin Nish is learning on the job, and he has made some excellent decisions. It's good to see a manager with passion as well as know-how (tho he shouldn't be implying that the ref was a cheat). It's pleasing to see Sneddon, Brett, Miller and Callaghan - all products of our youth system - being regular first team picks. It's ridiculous to say Brett and Murdoch wouldn't get into the Dunfermline first eleven. Bring on the Rangers (or at least the Rangers' cheque book...) I hope both Dunfermline and Cowden are promoted. Finally.... Sense! :-)

Brazilianlex
Have the Pars abandoned their much heralded youth policy under AJ. ? Bottom of the U20 league and the stats for sat show Dunfermline starting 11 - avg age 26.27- 1 player under 23 - no home grown players Cowden - avg age 22.54 - 7 players under 23 - 3 home grown players

All of it matters for naught though, we've had sides in this division where the vast majority of the side came through the youth system, and while that was alright, I much prefer winning. parsboi
Could also add that two first teamers currently injured (Williamson and Martin) are products of our youth system. But let's not let that get in the way of a racist Cowdenbeath fan trying to point score on an Internet forum.
TheMessiah
Bit awkward when it turns out that our stongest 11 without injuries has more home-grown players than Cowden :-/

Having players like MAC and David Hutton will obviously raise the average age. Even then, we do have regular youngsters like PJ Crossan, Cammy McClair, Lewis spence, James Thomas, Robbie Crawford and Jordan Orru playing for the U20s. I'm also seeing names like Morrison and Luke often enough, who obviously aren't first team players and I can only assume they're 16/17 years old. Get back to worrying about mid-table mediocrity you boring fud.
da_no_1
Have the Pars abandoned their much heralded youth policy under AJ. ? That's 5 for starters. A bit unfair to say we've abandoned the youth policy, the main reason we championed it was due to the fact that when we went into admin we had to unfairly rely heavily on the youngsters to field a side. There's obviously a lot of pressure on us to go up this season, hence the reason a number of more experienced players were brought in to replace the 13 or 14 who were released. Think one of the main reasons that not all of the youngsters are still with us is that they were over-used in the last couple of seasons, where some of them had to play first team games then U-20 games in the same week. No way for a 16/17/18 year old to develop properly IMO.

da_no_1
Out of interest what exactly was unfair about it? Yeah I didn't make it clear that it was perhaps unfair heaping pressure on a squad heavily reliant on 17 & 18 year old youth players to initially keep us up then get us promoted. I didn't mean it was unfair on the club in any way.
