About 21 minutes in, the spoof interview with Hugh Keevins and Fergus McCann, it's Watson playing both characters.

Yes, but you said good. Watson wasn’t good at it. Roper was good at it.

In it's heyday in the 90's it was fairly decent, the McAvennie character was so overdone though, Jonathan Watson however done a surprisingly good Fergus McCann and his parody of Graeme Souness was actually superb, as others have alluded though it slowly degenerated when they started doing Scottish social commentary in it, even though his turn at Jim Kerr a couple of years ago was actually really good, and I say that as a huge Simple Minds fan.

I always banged on about how good the France 98 special was, telling friends to look it up.

I hadn't actually seen it for many years until recently when, a couple of months ago, I found a (dodgy) copy on Youtube.

It was brilliant.

That's a bit dramatic.

Anyway, the annual P&B OAE whingefest has become as much a part of New Year as Old Lang Syne.  Here's to the last one.

The P&B thread is better than the programme.

Looking forward to a Dennis Law sketch, a guy that the majority of people under 30 will have no clue who he is.

Im going for a Nicola Sturgeon/Boris Johnson Brexit sketch, a St Mirren Covid sketch and a Neil Lennon/Celtic fans rioting sketch. A good writer would be able to take those subjects and turn them into something funny. Jonathon Watson and the BBC writers however...

A good writer?  The most tragic part of the programme is always reserved for the credits when you see just how many so-called writers were employed in the making of it.
