There was a time when folk (on another Forum I think) were trying to discuss some of the more unfortunate aspects of a particular religion by commenting on those who might shout about "Allan's Snackbar". Never did find out if anyone was brave enough to open an establishment of that name.

I wonder how a journalist working at a news broadcasting station* would be able to check and investigate if something was false?

*I use the terms journalist and news in possibly there loosest meaning as think their defence for some of their stuff and presenters is that they are more entertainment than news.

JM Barrie and his team should have gone on a goodwill tour of Afghanistan. The "sport" appears to be inexplicably popular there.

Allahakbarries was an amateur cricket team founded by author J. M. Barrie, and was active from 1890 to 1913. The team's name was a portmanteau of Barrie's name and the mistaken belief that 'Allah akbar' meant 'Heaven help us' in Arabic (rather than its true meaning: 'God is great').[1][2] Notable figures to have featured for the side included Rudyard Kipling, H. G. Wells, Arthur Conan Doyle, P. G. Wodehouse,[3] G. K. Chesterton, Jerome K. Jerome, A. A. Milne, E. W. Hornung, Henry Justice Ford, A. E. W. Mason, Walter Raleigh, E. V. Lucas, Maurice Hewlett, Owen Seaman, Bernard Partridge, Augustine Birrell, Paul Du Chaillu, Henry Herbert La Thangue, George Cecil Ives, and George Llewelyn Davies, as well as the son of Alfred Tennyson.

06:48 Glasgow Central to Newcastle with LNER then 09:40 to Sunderland with Northern.

(Not that I believe this truly occurred.....)

Could also switch to the metro, guess to the same platform in Sunderland

Can't be long before GBNews tries the "this channel is for entertainment purposes only and should not be considered a news broadcast" cop-out.

Tried? So he didn't even get the fun of setting the polis on fire but, due to his own incompetence, he's in the jail for it anyway?

You know how, when a serial killer is caught, there's always a lot of "who'd have thought it, he always seemed like such a quiet boy" from the neighbours? Doesn't seem like there's a lot of that sentiment going about for these wallopers.

Is Tommy Robinson still on holiday? Some gig he's got if so.

Every day's a holiday when you're funded by wealthy donors to tweet fantasy shite and punch the occasional furriner (so long as they're smaller than you, and on their own, and you're surrounded by a crowd of supportive Neanderthals).

"Who'd have thought it.  He is normally pretty good at pushing burning wheelie bins at people.  Must have been having an off day."

I caught a train from Middlesbrough years ago. It's like Grangemouth without the culture.

They already do that to avoid neutrality requirements.
