capybara
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-politics-35948407 Saw this breaking on Twitter last night. Scottish Labour leader Kezia Dugdale has sought to clarify reports she might back Scottish independence if it could secure Scotland's EU membership. In an interview with the Fabian Review she was quoted as saying it was "not inconceivable" in such circumstances. Now this being Kez she has backtracked slightly, but this is an open goal for the Tories. Not sure what will be SLAB,s next u turn but it will be along soon.

She secretly wants indy but is towing party line is how I read that... I see her sexuality also got a mention in the article. How that's anything to do with politics or scottish independence i don't know.
Antlion
Can someone explain why when the SNP parliamentary group/s all support, say, EU membership (without any dissenting and wishing to leave), it's a "BORG-like cult mentality"; but when not a single Labour, Tory or Lib Dem parliamentarian breaks ranks on UK membership, no one bats an eyelid? It's a little like how independence supporters are castigated frequently as brainwashed cultists by folk who simultaneously pine for a time when we were "undivided" and simply all blindly accepted Scotland's status as a wee northern bit of another state.
Mr Rational
She secretly wants indy but is towing party line is how I read that... It's the persistent rumour that never dies - she tried to join and get selected for the SNP up in Aberdeen and was refused, she went off and joined labour instead. I think she's just about a sleeper agent these days. Of course she will espouse labour values (whatever the hell they are today) and she will ensure that she is competent enough to remain in the job, but I wouldn't be surprised if she is trying to move labour to a more neutral position for the next time we have a referendum.

That doesn't jibe with her absolute opposition to even accepting the will of the people if they demanded another referendum, which she claimed in the last debate. Once again, "steely" Kez and Labour have no idea how to tackle the constitutional debate, and so are desperately trying to sound vaguely open on it (to appease supporters of Scottish statehood) and absolutely opposed to even discussion of it (to appease opponents of Scottish statehood). Labour's position will just float around depending on the context in which they're asked the question, because ultimately they're just trying to win a few votes from folk who haven't seen through them.
Mr Rational
Slightly off topic, well massively, I see John Wittingdale, the culture secretary has been caught with a dominatrix prostitute. If the bloke wanted to be humiliated, punished shouted at, then not get any sex (and pay for the pleasure), he should just get married like the rest of us ffs!

There would be an enormous irony however if Scottish biggest inter-community shit stirrer did find himself coming to grief with the Frankenstein's monster he's worked so hard the last twenty years to create.

Granny Danger
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-35918844 Putin and the Icelandic Prime Minister already tied into this.
