Really good WiFi should be mandatory in each Scottish Football ground.

Celtic have it but in games when the ground is close to full its impossible to connect to...however that happens about once or twice a season now so majority of time its fine. Noticed Hampden had free Wi-Fi at the Ross County semi in January but, other than to check other scores occasionaly why would you really need it?

If your going to a match at any level and spending most of your time on Facebook or forums like this then your as well staying at home or in the pub.

To answer the OP's question my view is ticket prices are too high the main factor but, while our clubs pay high wages to bang average dross and get a pittance of TV money, even Celtic included thats unlikely to change significantly.

Other factors like safe standing and being able to buy a beer might improve the èxperience as would the football not being shite. Id also lobby for the scrapping of those ridiculous lunchtime kick offs we in Scotland have for most TV games, fucking awful having these games at this time, the Friday night ones conversely are fantastic, I much prefer these and also didnt mind the 6.00 Saturday games we had in the late 90's and early 00's. You can have a pre match pint or two and dont have to get up at stupid o'clock if game is up at Aberdeen etc

Cheaper tickets = less income for clubs = having to cut back investment on playing squad = poorer quality football = lower crowds.

Over a third of SPFL clubs' revenue comes from gate receipts. There is no guarantee that lowering prices will bring in enough fans to ensure clubs don't make a loss and when such a big chunk of the clubs' income comes from this, lowering prices would be counter-productive.

Half time entertainment:

An Old Firm fan, bedecked in full strip, comes sprinting out of the tunnel. 10 seconds later, a lion comes after him.

Wait. This needs more thought.

Whoever wins the half-time draw spins a Wheel of Fortune, dictating which wild beast (lion, tiger, rhino, bear or gorilla) is unleashed.

Wait. Can gorillas run fast? If not, replace with chimp.

And add one 'comedy' option. Emu?

The problem we have in Scotland is there is so much wall to wall live TV football from England and Europe it is getting more and more difficult for our clubs at all levels to entice people out the house and into grounds, as you say to attract better players they need to pay wages they shouldnt be and, with the pittance TV deal we have that means ticket prices of at least £20 up to £30 for top flight games. Will lowering that bring in enough exrra bodies for it to be cost effective? Sadly probably not

^^^Absolutely this.

I'm just nit picking but aren't all followers of the evil sisters full kit wankers? I'm struggling to think of one, that I know, that isn't.

Could look at the German model though. Generally their ticket prices are the same as here, but they always have a set amount that are cheap.

Likewise you also get a lot more for your £25 in Germany, and I don't just mean the standard of football. Free travel for a start is a big thing - this is where we need to be getting involved with bus and train companies. Also the options of being able to drink, better food, better atmosphere.

We should be trying to tap into the tourism market. Was speaking to a Scotland fan in Prague who said he's stopped going to domestic games and instead has become a football tourist, generally picking games in Bundesliga, Serie A and La Liga. He never has problems getting tickets.

Yet, any game here that might be remotely interesting to a tourist and they would struggle to get a ticket unless they were on a club database even if the game isn't a sell out. The recent Hibs/Ross County final was probably a prime example of that. Tickets eventually went on sale on day of game for neutrals, fair enough, but even then you were looking at £25. Should have had a large section behind goal for £12-15, free transport within Glasgow for fans to get there, and subsidised trains and buses for fans to actually get to Glasgow.
