Officer Barbrady
I thought goals were no longer a centre-forwards' barometer? We made decent strides last week, albeit against the weakest opponent we'll face, but did so in a manner in which we took full advantage of the situation presented to us, in not merely looking to the nine to 'create' space for the 7, 10 and 11. Between the various options in those three shirts, we have the tools to be very effective in between opponents halves' centre circle and 18 yard box. Even back in the day, defeating the likes of San Marino and the Faroes, even at home, has been a laborious, hard-going exercise (only in the 6-0 win at Parkhead did we exert any real dominance over either) which was apparent by the fact we didn't beat either, away, by more than two goals....options going forward now should reflect this. Perhaps reducing the workload on Fletcher/Martin/Griffiths to bring others into play, might see us actually be in a position to genuinely take games to teams, instead of drawing attention to our piss poor defence. Haha now there's a strategy - distract the opposition from our defence. "Is that Grant Hanley, you say? No, no, it's *mumblemumble* - LOOK, there's Oliver Burke's slipstream!" Officer Barbrady
Well, aye.....the sight of Burke running at them, or Ritchie swinging in cracking balls, or Snodgrass' shoot-on-sight credentials, to me are reasons to worry other teams instead of waiting on the inevitable. A midfield string-puller like Bannan can only help further still.

Snoddy, Burke and Ritchie should be our 3 attacking options from now on, sitting behind the striker (either Griffiths or McCormack for me) Anya would be a fantastic impact sub with his pace, as Phillips would have been if he could get in the squad ahead of the gash McKay and Forrest. NM_1919
Noticed scott hogan that scored two for Brentford away to Brighton on Saturday, is listed on flashscores as Scottish. Don't know if it's a mistake on their part or not. Maybe worth a look at instead of that carthorse martin

oneteaminglasgow
But I thought it was all Fletcher's fault that Wednesday were 'shite' this season?

MarkoRaj
It poses an interesting question. What is better from a Scotland perspective? A player playing at the bottom end of the epl, not setting the world alight but being a solid enough player. Hardly scoring any goals due to the lack of service.Or someone in the top end of the championship banging them in every week?On the one hand it's good from a confidence perspective to have a striker that scores goals but it's a lot more difficult to then go and play against top defenders at international level.Thoughts? RandomGuy.
Craig going down the dryhorce route of suggesting anyone with a Scottish sounding surname. Also... Steven Fletcher - 7 appearances - 471 minutes - 2 goals - Goal every 236 minutes Ross McCormack - 6 appearances - 511 minutes - 2 goals - Goal every 256 minutes

kenny131
Not a great fan of Fletcher, but that said when he came on against malta he looked very sharp, or was it just martin was that bad I, m not sure. Either way maybe dropping down to the championship and scoring might just give him the confidence in front of goal he has been lacking these past few years. With the prospect of better service to our striker we may actually see Fletcher score regularly.
