Mr. Brightside
Well if Robinson does jump ship to Luton then you can bet that won't be the destination for Curtis Main.
well fan for life
I’ve thought long and hard about this and come to the conclusion that we must keep Sammon at all costs.

Gianfranco
I see Luton have approached West Brom’s assistant manager.
capt_oats
The bold Robbo bigging up Jake Hastie there...a "revelation in training". Also talking up being able to go 433 and saying he'd like to add more but seems dependent on some folk moving on. He sounds enthusiastic about James Scott too. Will be interesting to see who we move out then and would be excellent to see Hastie, Scott aswell as Livingstone aswell push into the squad

He also seems to suggest by that interview that Frear is still in his plans as well, be interesting to see who the couple are that he wants to move on.

I clocked him mentioning Frear though it was with a tentative perhaps. I've a feeling we're open to offers on pretty much anyone around the fringes of the squad who are going into the last 6 months of their deals tbh. Notable that he was very complimentary to the work Alloa have done with Hastie and he qualified that by saying he's a big advocate of loaning the #youngmotherwell players out. Goodwin seems to be doing a smashing job there. The comments about development loans (such as they were) made me wonder how that works seeing as Craigan's left his post. I know Barry Maguire's away to QoS but he was in that grey area between 1st team and Reserves so you can see Robinson OK'ing that one. Curious as to who gets the say on where they go on loan as you'd think the ones who aren't in Tenerife with the first team are more likely to be loaned out so Brown, Watson, MacDonald...Semple? I mean, ultimately the fact that those type of loans mean that the player is available for the Reserves anyway so it's kind of semantics but you'd have thought that the Reserve manager would have a say in where the players are being loaned out to. Given Craigan was announced as leaving on 20th December and the club were planning on undertaking a review of the pathway for 18-21 year olds before appointing a replacement it's been pretty quiet on that front and it's been 3 weeks-ish. I noticed The Sun mention that McManus had been linked with a move to Celtic's Academy recently as well. Luke92
It sounds like Robinson is going to be making changes in shape and hopefully playing style for the next 6 months. It's going to be really interesting to see what the style of play is. I think we are all keen to see a bit more football played. It seems obvious to me that we can't continue to boot balls up the park when we have someone of the talent of Ross McCormack. In hindsight the summer was a bit of a step back in terms of personnel. I think most of us were hoping to refine the squad with some quality but we failed to do that and brought in more of the same type of players. This looks to be what Robinson is trying to rectify now. It still seems strange to me that we took strides forward in that regard on paper with Cifci last January only to recruit Sammon in the summer. Anyway it looks like he has got the message now, it's going to be really interesting to see how this goes. Robinson IMO is fairly strong tactically and defensively. His weakness seems to be producing any real creative or attacking threat. Even last year when we were doing okay the plan appeared to 'get as many balls in the box as possible' or 'play direct early'. Clearly this worked a treat in some cup games but it is a fairly basic approach. I am of the belief that football is often over complicated by some but I think we need to be a bit more cute going forward. I remain hopeful but so far as a manager this seems to be his blindspot. The Accies result and McCormack signing has certainly bought Robinson some time. In terms of other recruits I'm hopeful we will see another defensive and quality attacking option added. I'm honestly still not convinced about ATS defensively and wouldn't mind us bringing another left back in. I am also hoping that we can get another attacking player of a decent calibre. In terms of options we have currently I would go for something like: Gillespie Tait Aldred Dunne ATS Ariyibi Campbell McHugh Frear Turnbull McCormack Or Gillespie Tait Aldred Dunne ATS Ariyibi Campbell Turnbull Frear McCormack Johnson Or we even have the option to go with a 3 up front. The whole 352 debate kind of went away last year after Robinson changed to the diamond and picked up a couple of results. We seemed to revert back but it wasn't really highlighed again. I still don't think it's the best way to set the team up, especially now with the addition of these new attacking options
