Motherwell FC - A Thread For All Seasons

I'm sure Graham is absolutely shaken to the core that he's been denounced by the footballing gurus of sportscene. Hope it hasn't put him off his celebratory curry.

Doubt he cares, he's already got the incompetent buffoons of Scottish football rattled at the fact we aren't bending over and accepting their decisions without criticism. Long may it continue.

Consistently starting a striker who's proven over his career to both lack goal threat, and constantly miss more than he scores, when you've got Cole/Long who are the complete opposite, is a strange decision for a team battling relegation and needing to take their opportunities.

But that's none of my business...

Top six is gone for us.  It’s petty but I would like St Mirren to miss out and our resurgence to take us above them.  We have a record from 1989 to defend.

I only just noticed it was mathematically gone tae

Knew it was out our reach but got sad anyway

I wonder how close we were to just running with Chapman until the end of the season, before his NDP performance presumably quashed that? Honestly doesn't bear thinking about, think Kelly has inarguably been our signing of the season already.

The way I saw it was Chapman was brought in to cover Carson with Fox being out injured (and allow Morrison to go out on loan). With Carson's injury we brought in Archer who on paper is closer to a #1 choice than you'd say Chapman was and Archer was starting ahead of him once he was up to speed. Assuming we knew Carson was going to be out long term after we broke him again when he was chucked back in I'd have been surprised if that didn't change our plans on the keeper front.

I'd have said that the Chapman's NDP experience just bumped Morrison up on to the bench for the rest of the season.

Given he was signed before Alexander was confirmed as manager I'd be interested to know if Kelly was one of the players we were rumoured to have been signing before Robinson bailed.

Edit: to answer my own question, probably not given Carson started against Killie (which is when Chic Young was talking about the 2 new players) and Robinson walked the next day.
