He got 10 minutes at Livingston I think. Is he only contracted for this season? This will be his opportunity to prove himself.

Panic over - we are all on the same page. Still a bit befuddled by this turn of events. Hopefully nothing in it. Arguably the most improved player from last season.

Ludo*1
We've signed Ricki Lamie on a PCA. He's utter shite is he not? Ffs.
wearedarkblue87
Right lads it looks like we have signed Ricki Lamie on a pre contract.. what's he like? You should definitely play him there. -

Depends which version you get. His first 6 months he was murder but Alexander has turned him into a serviceable defender and I think most of us would have been happy to keep him around. Tbh, it's not a massive shock. He's done well for us but it's pretty clear that ideally Ojala and Solholm are our first pick CBs if everyone is fit and Lamie seems to have wanted more game time and he'd always have been a back-up. I'd guess Dundee can offer him a starting spot. The fact that his pal has fucked off to United made me think there was a fair chance he was off. Farewell to the Bathgate Maldini. Fwiw...this is peak Bad Ricki Edited January 28, 2022 by capt_oats
thisGRAEME
A defender that's good for 89 minutes.
Casagolda
It's been some turnaround from Lamie, I’ve gone from desperately wanted rid this time last year to being slightly disappointed by this news. He’s hardly put a foot wrong when called upon this season but it’s obvious he’s 4th choice centre back and by all accounts he wasn’t happy at only being offered a 1 year extension. If Dundee are offering first team football and more security then you can’t blame him for taking it. Good luck to him.

When you visit the Bathgate Hills, bear in mind that the landscape you see now was once very different. Around 330 million years ago, West Lothian was situated close to the Equator in shallow seas on the edge of an enormous continent known as Euramerica. This continent included what is now North America, Greenland, Ireland, Britain and Scandinavia.
'WellDel
All in on this new scouting system. When was the last time we, or anyone else for that matter, brought in such an eclectic mix from so many different places? A Norwegian, a Finnish international who'd been playing in Denmark, a Frenchman previously plying his trade in Malaysia, and now an American brought in from Belgium's top flight. Certainly a change from the usual English lower league punt, and I'm all for it. On Lamie, he is definitely the ultimate Jekyll and Hyde defender, all sugar or shite with no real in between. If he won his first few challenges in a game he could grow into it and turn in a performance, but if he misplaced a pass or mis-kicked a ball early doors it set the tone for a real watch through your fingers performance. A weird 50/50 of sorrow/relief that his days in the C&A are coming to an end. A player who, in reality, has probably managed to earn a living for the past few years in a league above his actual level. Fair play to him for that.

Allroy for Prez
This time last season I’d have driven Lamie to Dundee myself but the transformation in him under Alexander has to be seen the be believed so I’m slightly disappointed by this news. Not quite on “Tony Watt to Utd” level, but still. Maybe Ojala and Sondre are our first choice picks, but 22 games into the season, how many games have they actually started together? Can’t have been many. Lamie might not have been a guaranteed starter but surely no one bar Kelly is and with the injury records of our perceived first picks, there would definitely be plenty opportunity to play if your own form and fitness held out. Fully expect him to go to Dundee this window now as I believe they’re a bit short at the back.
