Are the board members paid? Nah. I assume they'll get expenses but not paid. As mentioned below, 45k in costs seems good going.

If Airdrie, County and Forfar win, it's impossible. Forfar probably won't which likely leads to a goal difference duel with Hamilton and Ayr.

one m in Motherwell
Jamie McGrath anyone?

Midfield seems like the area we're least likely to add to, based on Kettlewell's comments (forwards and wide options).
Neil86
I was thinking that Mcgrath would maybe have better offers on the table, but i'm actually not sure he will, can't see hearts or Aberdeen going in for him, not sure on Hibs either having signed Levitt. So we could be in with a shout, saying that, not sure we actually need someone in that area of the park.

Aye, had we not signed Davor then he'd be a ready made replacement for Goss, but given we now have Davor/Miller/Paton/Maguire (eep!)/Slattery for those two positions it's not a critical gap needing filled now. Mercurial foreign striker required first.

boozyBJ
Striker or strikers should be paramount to our needs now
camer0n_mcd
Unless someone goes out the door we don't have the need for him. Keep the budget for a striker or 2. Edited July 27, 2023 by camer0n_mcd Spelling
dezz
Based on this from Scott Burns, McGrath is a non-starter for us. We’ve got Spittal anyway.
Swello
Even if we could afford him, McGrath would be a luxury in a squad that can't afford any. If we push the boat out on one player, it has to be a centre forward.
capt_oats
More chat from Ketts. Quote Motherwell boss Stuart Kettlewell is looking at ‘flawed’ players that maybe have a point to prove, as he bids to bolster his squad further. The Fir Park boss admits that players who may not have had the best season but can be improved are on his radar, and says they don’t have money to pay transfer fees for anybody. He said: “I’m not pleading poverty or trying to make excuses here, but we don’t have top dollar to go out and sign players willy-nilly or pay transfer fees. “We’re not paying transfer fees for any players, we’re looking for free agents, guys that have maybe had a flawed season or maybe haven’t been at their best for a spell. “It’s our job to try and see if we can turn that into a successful season. That’s where we are. “To do that you have to find the right one, or the right one that your coaching methods or managerial skills can resonate with, and you can your absolute best out of.” Kettlewell added: “We have to move some players out before we can move anybody in, so we’ve been actively trying to do that. “I think I’m being fair as well – if I don’t see them fitting into the system or what I’m looking to do. “These guys have know that for a period of time, that doesn’t just fall on their lap one day and they hear, unexpectedly, that they’re not a part of things – that’s something we’ve been working on for a while. “That gives me an opportunity to bring in a couple of players if that happens. “If it doesn’t, as always, I’ll work with the players that we have at our disposal, and there will be no complaints. “There are one or two guys that we’ve spoken to, that we’ve identified might not get that game-time that they would expect, or hope for. “Everyone has been treated fairly and given ample opportunity to show what they’re about.”
Desp
Flawed = Mercurial, IMO. Surely Kev's got a few names in his phonebook that could do us a turn for a season or two?
