Although it was a conscious choice. I had a look at the squad update the club posted on 24th May and he was listed as under contract whereas Nicholson wasn't so while Halliday's clearly a loan made permanent it was an agreement put in place in January 24 rather than this summer. RandomGuy.
Just means they've got a pay rise, doesn't it? Contract length is still permanently 12 months.

Lukovic
Suppose it stops us having to make an Alexander sized payout if they were to go. Probably has a wage increase factored in every season as well.

I'm probably wrong, but I'm sure I've read before that managers rolling contracts are 12 months, so it's constantly that for compensation/pay offs.

As @RandomGuy. says a year is a fairly common notice period but I guess it could be anything that’s mutually agreed. This is a new thing for us though, afaik all our previous managers have been on fixed term deals. I wonder if this is a Caldwell thing? It actually feels more appropriate for a team like us tbh.

He'll get a bit of time to bed them in but if he doesn't get enough form soon enough to justify a contract extension, he'll be under a fair amount of pressure approaching January. Sorry, but

Makes sense. Means we only ever have to pay 12 months compensation to get rid, but we are always gonna get some kinda fee if a bigger club comes in. Lowers the financial risk for us on both ends. I presume it will be target driven also?
ropy
The key thing is that the club will never again have to announce a contract extension for Kettlewell, that makes them happy.
