Double Winning St Johnstone FC Thread

f**k knows how you could gather that from the worst performance I've seen in years. Every and I mean every player was absolutely shite.

Because he was literally the only player trying to drag you forward and he was so isolated there that it was noticeable. Trying to do everything himself because there simply wasn't anyone else about, even the usual pain in our arse Nicky Clark was playing almost like a holding mid.

Think coming out the game, he was a talking point (because of course he collapsed at FT) but a few folk around when talking about him and hopefully hoping he was OK, were mentioning how he looked like your only player who potentially looked like they could have caused us an issue.

I'd be surprised if Aberdeen and Hibs weren't very interested in Mitov this Summer, but I don't know if they could pay what we'd likely be asking.

In saying that I'm not sure what would be a good fee. I feel like trying to get near £1m+ for the full deal feels sensible. Specialist position, good age, been spectacular, full International. But that also sounds too much for someone out of contract in 12 months.

WhoScored, who use Opta data for matches, now give free xG data.

Sidibeh already 2nd on that list for us this season. Only Carey has more shots too (31 v 25).

Feels strange going into games expecting a striker to have shots and chances.

Clark has scored six goals this season - Killie Home 2, Motherwell, Killie Away, Aberdeen & Livingston.

It doesn't include penalties, didn't realise I'd cropped that out the photo.

I love your optimism. We only got a bit over that for our biggest talent in a generation.  I think we’d sell him for £250k sadly.

I think goalkeepers can command bigger fees than central midfielders tbh, especially the type of midfielder McCann was (that sounds like I'm playing him down, which isn't what I mean but I don't know how else to word it).

Clubs are absolutely desperate for match winning goalkeepers.

Not to stick my oar in but I’d think that @PauloPerth’s scenario is probably more likely.

You’re right in saying clubs are desperate for match winning GKs but I think because it’s such a specialised position there are more keepers available. Over the past 13 or 14 years we’ve probably had 3 of the best keepers in the league in Randolph, pre-DVT Carson and Gillespie and got precisely f**k all for them.

The closest we came was the supposed £500k Celtic offered for Carson when Gordon was injured late in a January window.

I think generally speaking there tends to be a surplus of good goalkeepers available on free transfers which drives down the necessity to pay big prices unless you’re talking elite levels.

You're probably right.

Plus Mitovs showing more and more weaknesses now he's made a mistake too. Today he was brutal for shiteing it out high balls.

Has Peter Pawlet signed for anybody yet? think him and GMS to be signed by someone else and then i can relax. Saw Watkins got signed by Killie so that was another bullet dodged!

A lucky escape for St Johnstone indeed.

If he played for us he'd have 1 goal this season.

Would still be one more than Stevie May I suppose.

I get you're excited, but searching for a post from last July to gloat that Watkins is better than our 4th choice striker is just a weird way to do it.

Think we'll even make it to double figures of wins this season?

The sad thing is Levein won't even be too bothered as we're still likely to move into the split with an advantage over Ross County.

At this point I don't really care what league we're in (unless us getting relegated stops the take over from happening). Just get to the end of the season and get this squad so far to f**k. Wouldn't be sad to see the back of any of them.
