Dick Van Dyke
Are we the only club that looks weaker after the window? Hopefully McCart will be better than vihmann. But the rest of the squad doesn’t look any better. Obviously hearts have massively strengthened. Accies have templeton back and he good be a difference maker. St. Mirren new boy McCarthy looked decent so far and I’d definitely have taken Jakubiak at us. County have made what look like a couple of decent signings. St Mirren have lost 2 experienced defenders who they would consider regulars when fully fit (Broadfoot, McGinn), and their best CB of the first half of the season (McLaughlin), and replaced them with a lad from the Irish League and someone from the EPL Reserve league. Since everyone seems convinced Jones is shite as hes from the EPL reserve league, where does that leave them? Hamilton are pretty much reliant on David Templeton single handedly dragging them to safety as they've added nothing else. Kilmarnock are still a bit unknown, but they're on a huge winless run and all they've added today is Broadfoot, alongside a winger I didn't even realise played against us, and a striker whos scored 22 goals in 6 years. County have added Donaldson, who ICT fans say is worse than McCart, and Oli Shaw, who isn't experienced at this level at all, while losing Brian Graham who will always get goals at this level. Beside that they've added a midfield released by Exeter. We've replaced Vihmann and Callachan, neither of whom contributed at all, with McCart and Butcher. McCart will be an upgrade, Butcher who knows, but on paper is stronger. Kennedy for Jones is obviously a downgrade. We can't judge the players we've signed as 99.9% on here have never seen them play. Jakubiak has a goal record similar to Kane. People want perm signings but with the wage we pay the options like him are just not good enough. They would not improve the squad.

RandomGuy.
This window has been a shambles regardless of how the signings work out. They could be incredible and we finish top six and it would still have been embarrassing. Feel like the deal to get McCart in now, and a PCA for Rooney being agreed this early, maybe suggests they've started to plan 6 months in advance. If having a window where you make short term signings, to allow you time to always plan in advance from then on, is needed to sort out our transfer strategy, then hopefully thats where we are.

The lad from the Irish league has looked good against rangers and Aberdeen. accies will be relying on templeton but have also got a squad that’s used to battling at the bottom, do we? oli shaw has played 46 games for hibs so how is that not experienced at all? is McCart even going to play? You keep going on about us needing wingers so if we’re playing wingers it’ll be back to two centre half’s. Not sure how how Butcher is better on paper? He’s been played for a few non league teams and a few games for Yeovil who are regularly bottom half of league 2

Nothing will prove we’ve had a good window because we haven’t. TW rambled on about needing experience and the average age of the squad has gotten younger and has played less first team games than it had before the window. Not to mention we’ve lost our best player and replaced him with a player who’s in payed 12 games for Middlesbrough’s under 23s. We are the 2nd lowest scorers in the league how will that change after this window?

He’s been played for a few non league teams and a few games for Yeovil who are regularly bottom half of league 2 I was giving a proper "everything is fine" post. I can't be arsed doom mongering all night tbh. We can play more than one system. I'll be amazed if McCart doesn't play more than Vihmann, who didn't even play 200 minutes in the league for us. Butcher was close to Bournemouths first team. He was captain of their U21s and making the first team bench, when he got injured. Its purely my opinion but that alone will suggest hes a more rounded player than Callachan, so should be a better player. It remains to be seen how sharp he'll be after missing so long though.
tree house tam
If Butcher shows up well and is a better ball player than Muzz, it may well be that Davidson might not get a new contract in the summer. McCart will definitely play more than Vihmann did, 100%. Wouldn't be surprised to see Tommy play the majority of games with 3 at the back. Wingers mostly are hot and cold, we just need to wait and see with that one let's hope this one's more Ainsworth than Taylor. Look at things positively, what realistically could go wrong? The Woolshed
Strangely quite looking forward to today. Should be a decent crowd and atmosphere. As good as Naismith and Boyce are, I still think we can contain them. Would probably settle for a draw with others around us having tricky looking fixtures
