Monkey Tennis
I wasn't even anywhere near being alive in 1982. But yes I do know they beat Spain 1-0 and Armstrong scored. That good enough for you MT m8? Well done. Marginally less ignorant today.

1320Lichtie
Wow, you googled something after being caught bare-arsed. What an intellectual. Nah known that for quite a while in fairness, since whenever it was when they beat them that last time in the Healy days.
Falcor Roar
Hopefully see more of an attacking threat vs Ukraine. First game always a nervy one to get out of the way.
Cerberus
Touch of class from the Republic supporters today who all sang on the 24th minute "stand up for the ulsterman" in relation to the boy that died Puts everything into perspective The majority of Irish people want to move on. It's just bitter c***s in Scotland that want to hold onto the past.
Jacksgranda
Football fans generally know stuff about football. Northern Ireland achieved one of the most notable results ever in a World Cup finals game in 1982. Mouthing off about that country's record without knowing about it is indeed profoundly ignorant. I wasn't even anywhere near being alive in 1982. But yes I do know they beat Spain 1-0 and Armstrong scored. That good enough for you MT m8? So you should have known that '86 wasn't their "one and only".

die hard doonhamer
3 points could well be enough to get out of the group as well. Here's hoping. Seeing the 4 nations there from the British Isles progress would be good.

RedRob72
2-0 and it was no fluke! Give us an update when you're back on earth. Unbelievable mate, what a game, what a result and an incredible atmosphere, back in town tonight the place was just rocking, never seen quite a buzz like it!! GAWA!!😀ðŸ‘🇬🇧 Thought O'Neill's men held their shape well and we're miles more positive than the Poland game, hard to pick stand outs in such a fantastic effort, but thought McAuley was tremendous, the goal looked a peach!! Up to Paris on Saturday morning for the Germany game on Tues, after tonight anything seems possible!! 😉 Fans, brilliant again, joined today/tonight by a good number of Spanish & Croatian supporters in the streets by the fanzone in the south of the City, not sure where either are playing next, but great to see them want to have a good sing and a beer with us too!! Cheers Rab
