Considering it was only last season that our league champions were the only Champions League representative and started in the first qualifying round, that’s not bad going.

I think the runners-up will now enter the 3rd Qualifying round instead of the 2nd.

The ban makes no difference to any team except Rangers (unless Villarreal win the CL) who got bumped up a round. Everyone else enters where they would have anyway.

This is confirmed on the official UEFA access list. Rangers into q3.

Does that mean Group Stages guaranteed for top three, now?

Yes.

Nice going. How would this change if Rangers win the Europa League?

Only difference is that we'd be in the CL groups.

And you'd be top seeds, right?

Yes. At the moment it's near certain Celtic would be in pot 4 and also near certain we would also be in pot 4 if we qualified via the qualifiers next season.

Thats cause they didnt get any of the euro money earned by someone else

Exactly. Those teams that have made money from European competitions have distorted Scottish football in such a way that its caused QotS to be utter shite.

You see, this is very silly.

For something to actually be comical, a kernel of truth is required.

Queens have been relegated because they have indeed been shite.  Their relative shiteness, compared to other sides round them, has nothing whatever to do with the wild distortion at the top of our game that you endorse.

I was gutted that your lot didn't win it, by the way.  I hope Arbroath can still come through the play-offs successfully, but the odds are now against.

You must have felt a little torn at Rugby Park though.  While presumably you were sorry for your team, you must have found it reaffirming and indeed joyous, to see might triumph and an established order reinforced.  It's what this wonderful game is clearly about for you after all.

Hopefully Rangers get a good result tonight. Even sraw would be nice as it will still add to the points total.

Would be a fantastic achievement they won and if they managed to go on and win it that would huge.

Not a fan of either of the 2 arse cheeks but support EVERY Scottish club in Europe.

Mon the Coefficient.

A draw for Rangers put the EL/ECL qualifiers coefficient up slightly, moving them ahead of Lincoln Red Imps and FK Sarajevo - maybe crucial for Hearts getting pot 3 in the ECL.

Every little helps. And though it doesnt help the other 2 ECL clubs, it will give Hearts a better start point position to gain points and if the manage to qualify for Europe the next season too they will be in a better position in regards to seeding.

If they stop being a British and an Irish team respectively,  I might support them.

Hearts now top of pot 4 in the projected ECL seedings. And with the Cypriot cup final now between two lower ranked sides - who will go into the EL PO as the ECL title holder spot will not be used - that may well push Hearts up into pot 3...
