It's not Pete that is talking shit through, attacks on foreigners have gone up as have attacks on Mosques with this knuckle dragging element of racists thinking that because we are leaving our economic deal with the rest of Europe this means all coloured people are going to be thrown out the country which is even more ridiculous as most the Muslim community don't originate from EU countries. There will undoubtedly be thousands of people who's knee jerk reaction to this would be "well thank f**k we are out the EU." We don't have an open border with France - we're not in the Schengen zone. One of the worst parts of the EU referendum - and much of it was risible - was both sides trying to claim we were less at risk from terrorism by following their path. Neither of these are correct; this is a global problem and in/out really makes no difference at all. Some countries suffer this more than others, but you don't stop ideology with customs controls and hard borders. It is, regrettably, almost certainly going to happen in the UK at some point as well.
