I see Rodgers is now saying that he thinks it's a bad idea to play a friendly like this in preference to a competitive league match. Apart from the fact that it's paying his humungous salary, that seems a reasonable view.  So we are back to money and the power of the green pound, which all seems a bit sad when you think about how unbalanced football is in this country.

there is no doubt that playing competitive matches is better than playing meaningless friendlies, the league cup has proved that this season so far and has been good for the jags,we all know that the fans are the last thing on there minds when these games are organised, the fans get moved about like sheep so the club can make as much dosh as possible,if we see the dosh going back into the team then it makes it more bearable, instead of a 3 o'clock kick aff we will get the game on tuesday or wednesday night under the lights it's just another thing fans have to go through just to see your teams.

None of the dosh goes to anyone apart from Celtic though. That's the point that everyone is making. That's why fans of smaller teams think that "bearable" comes nowhere near the issue.

that's not true if celtic get to the champions league every club in the SPFL will get some dosh at the end of the season also the prize money in the league is more evenly matched across the board, every club has to live within it's means,we all know the clubs are getting shafted with the tv companies,so these friendlies become a necessary evil,

If Celtic get to the group stage of the Champions League they get lots of money and the other Premiership teams get a very, very much smaller sum, making the differential between the richest and poorest even bigger. It's a terrible system that is designed to keep the same teams winning titles year after year.

so you criticise celtic for making money but when celtic make money for other clubs in scotland it's acceptable but not enough?we also gave you aiden nesbit last year,so celtic is making money for the jags and giving you players to improve,a thank you would be enough

I'm sorry, we should stop trying to strive as a club because you can't keep up.

Aiden Nesbit wasn't very good. Certainly not worth the hype. Dare I say it - a sand dancer. He was an abomination v Motherwell. Thanks but no thanks.

Apologies to all for challenging the idea that UEFA have a system that's designed to keep the top teams at the top.

aiden nesbitt is only 19 give the bhoy a chance his career is ahead of him weather he makes it or not,the system that UEFA have in place is not just down to money, spain.germany, italy and england have always been at the top of european football and that will not change, these countries and the clubs in these countries are bigger and better in terms of success winning trophies,
