I would say it quite clearly doesnt, yet I would still call a racist a coward. Being racist to someones face I wouldn't say is cowardly. Wrong, despicable and unacceptable, absolutely but by definition they wouldn't be a coward.

Wrong, despicable and unacceptable, absolutely but by definition they wouldn't be a coward.See I would call it cowardly. If you have a problem with someone theres other ways you can attempt to deal with it without going to the most hurtful and abhorrent thing you can think of. Maybe I have been understanding the word wrong all these years, but thats a context I would use it in. -
Venti
What are the Clyde fans views on punching a guy in the back of the napper? Is that frowned upon in their square-go ettiquette?

Would you say someone who is racist but keeps their views to themselves are less cowardly than those who make their views known?

Just have always considered someone racially abusing to be a cowardly thing to do. Theres no need to do it, and it causes a disproportionate level of hurt. Maybe in general the word is used wrongly in society.
Falkirk09Bairn
Just my opinion but it might be better for Bairnardo if he gets back to guarding the Kelpies. Marginally less embarrassing than his contribution to this thread.
Dee Man
Imagine having the opportunity to verbally abuse Neymar and the best you can come up with is a racist slur ffs.

Am Featha Taigh Nan Clach
A wee tap to the back of the head after being racially abused is the worst of both worlds. Calmly reporting it to the referee or knocking them out are the two acceptable courses of action.

Not often I read something on here that actually makes me laugh aloud to myself. But this is probably Ironic Post of the Year 2020.
Venti
I'd have just gently clipped Neymar's knee. Seems to cause him more pain than racial abuse.

AFAIK there is no International standard for grading cowardice. It seems my choice of that word, and saying that punching someone on the back of the head is as cowardly as racism is what's caused the issue. Its really all down to opinions and if I had somehow belittled racism then I could understand the outcry, however, my point was that people taking these things into the physical domain is something I feel quite strongly about, and in particular, attacking someone from behind and/or to the back of the head is something I feel very strongly about. Equating it to racism in terms of "cowardice" should amply demonstrate that fact, because I have spoken on here against racism a lot over the years. All of that aside, if the other lad is found to be guilty of racially abusing Neymar then hopefully he gets the book chucked at him as all racists should. Perhaps it was my mistake to split one issue out from the other, who knows. Point was that even if I think I situation warrants punching someone, I will never think it warrants punching them in that manner. That said, for the benefit of not turning this into further pages of shit sligning, I will no longer refer to Neymar as a coward. You're wasting your time by responding to a group of posters who will respond to anything you post with faux outrage. These posters are fucking morons and you're better off just letting it drop. I don't think anybody at all sees anything racisty in anything you posted. If they do, they're stupid.
