killiepiemuncher
No as many flat caps in this pic. And ladies in their Sunday best for a dust up at Hampden.

Bit of a trick photo on my behalf... it's not a football game, it's the Billy Graham Crusade in 1955. Hampden's true record attendances are actually for it and Boys Brigade events. Couple more: (Billy Graham Crusade at Ibrox) (BBs jubilee at Hampden, 1954)
Boghead ranter
I was at the BB Centenary event at Ibrox in 1983. I'm in this pic, right up the back of the Broomloan.
HibeeJibee
Billy Graham also held rallies at Parkhead in 1990s, of course. Archbishop of Glasgow arrives to celebrate mass there, 1954: 1958 film: http://movingimage.nls.uk/film/2725 Mass at EEP in Dunfermline, 1960s: EDIT: Similarly to Hampden - for many years the record attendance at EEP was a St Margaret Pilgrimage Mass in 1930, IIRC - around 20,000 - until broken after WWII. Salvo Montalbano
What’s the box at top of stand? Press box. Quite a few of the Archibald Leich stands had then. White Hart Lane had one. Hampden had one on the stand roof which was then replaced with one that looked like it was going to slide off the sloping roof

That's about 3 times the crowd that the football team got in those days.
