Prof Cox has been an unbearable fanny for a long time who's celebrity and wealth allow him to promote useless, incoherent Blairite politics but never feel any of the back lash. The irony here is an appeal to the memory of a man who was pro gassing Iraqis and starving Bengalis over the relatively trivial matter of customs checks in the Irish Sea.

I certainly agree with that part.
Granny Danger
Listened to a police federation spokesperson for an English force earlier today talking about policing new regulations. I’m usually wary of such folk but he made a lot of sense. He spoke about how things in general were quieter during the lockdown and that most folk were complying with the restrictions which made ‘policing by consent’ fairly easy. He also said that there has been an upsurge in crime since lockdown was lifted and that “almost all officers” are working beyond normal hours. The bottom line was that there is simply not the resources for any new regulations in England to be policed effectively; there is simply not the person power to do it. I wonder if Johnson will try to blame the police if his new restrictions in England fail to produce results.
Antlion
Just heard Alistair Jack on STV reassuring us that the new bill will only cause a technical breach of the law. So that’s ok then.

MONKMAN
Pelosi has just said the following; "If the U.K. violates that international treaty and Brexit undermines the Good Friday accord, there will be absolutely no chance of a U.S.-U.K. trade agreement passing the Congress."

The UK has been the US' bitch vassal state ever since Suez so that's definitely not going to happen.

vikingTON
A Tory Cabinet minister briefing to Newsnight that this is 'General Belgrano' moment to dramatically turn things round for the plucky Brits. Just put this deluded failed state out of its misery now.

Your shtick of ignoring all the actions of a Far Right government determined to (further) savage the economy and make millions unemployed so that they can maintain popularity among members of the electorate who don't like people with brown skin, while highlighting banal social media posts from centrist members of 90s pop bands is certainly doing the power of good for the Socialist cause. Well done. Edited September 10, 2020 by Bully Wee Villa
welshbairn
I bet this is true. Churchill is Boris's hero by the way, he tries to mimic him at every opportunity. That was the simple point, not whether Churchill broke international humanitarian rules decades before he helped put them in place. I didn't realise Cox had a twitter account, he's probably not used to duelling with the mighty Bastani. Bully Wee Villa
What they've been hoping for all along. Combine with Covid and how businesses "need a more flexible workforce" to stay afloat, and wait for the inevitable slashing of workers' rights now those pesky Eurocrats can't stop them. I hope you all enjoyed annual leave and sick pay. Edited September 10, 2020 by Bully Wee Villa
