OK.......define "person of colour" because from where i'm sitting everyone has a colour.

Define black. P.S. It's not a colour btw. Do we have a binary world where everyone is black or white, despite nobody being either, even very dark Africans or Albinos.

I think it's fair to say that strichners comment bordered on racism and he's now trying to backtrack under the guise of some accepted Americanism. That's my opinion anyway.

He's getting attacked on one side for being too PC and one side for being a dog whistling racist. I hesitate to judge.

Tusk saying the same as he did last week...

...and the week before...

...and the month before that...

...and last year...

...and ever since the Brexit vote.

You are not getting to cherry pick Theresa, not now, not never.

"Okay, we hear you.  We have had a serious discussion about this.  To be honest, some of us aren't that keen on cherries all the time.  Is there any chance we try other fruit from time to time if that is what we want?"

There’s been a race to the bottom over the last three decades for millions of Brits already whilst we were members of the EU.

A 'race to the bottom' in what way ?

Off the top of my head: gutting of worker’s rights, wage stagnation, unions decimated, brutal treatment of asylum seekers in their detention and deportation? These things will get worse after Brexit under a Tory government but these things already existed and were acted upon since Thatcher took power.

Workers have received more rights in the EU through measures such as the Working Hours Directive than they'd receive (or had) within the CDU. The French and Germans have much stronger unions and workers' rights within the EU. So to link the domestic politics of the UK with the EU in that way is a fatuous argument.

I don’t disagree with that. My issue was that the race to the bottom isn’t going to start with Brexit. The Tories, and New Labour, have found dozens of ways to actively make people’s lives worse for the last 30 years regardless of our EU membership.

Brexit removes the only supranational barrier to the UK turning itself into an absolute shithouse, this is a perfectly straightforward concept. No amount of 'Aye but what about Tony Blair!!11!!!' whataboutery changes that fact.

Agreed but it still doesn’t mean the race to the bottom starts with Brexit.
