Looks like Wales are showing how to react with dignity without risking any punishment from FIFA.

"The FAW (Football Association of Wales) naturally wishes to respect and honour those who fought and lost their lives fighting for their country," said Jonathan Ford, the chief executive of the FAW.

"We felt unable to take the risk of a financial penalty or point deduction, however, as we always have done at this time of year, we will be paying our respects in other ways."

A simple "we don't agree with the decision" and doing an alternative instead.  Was that really so hard?

Of course, what they do will still likely be overblown.

They're doing a "poppy mosaic" apparently.

Kick them out the qualifiers.

The only credible punishment for this blatant breach of FIFA rules (which the Welsh checked, got knocked back and rightly heeded) is to deduct both sides three points. Otherwise, what was the purpose in Wales complying with the rules? Let the evening's match determine who loses out the most from their shameless insertion of politics into football.

Hopefully we score a last second winner....then get docked points for wearing a flower.

FIFA reported to have widened the disciplinary case to include the display of poppies on the stadium scoreboards; the distribution of poppy t-shirts among the crowd; the holding of a minute's silence; and the playing of the Last Post.

Booing during the anthems and throwing of bottles onto the pitch also under scrutiny.

Good, throw the book at them, they were expressly told very clearly by fifa whose tournament they were playing in poppies weren't allowed,  they went and did it anyway,  how fuckin arrogant can you Be?   Would it be okay for Germany and Japan to commemorate their war dead in games against Us?

While the poppy is a relatively harmless thing, have to agree.  FIFA told them they couldn't, they did it anyway.  Really have no reason to complain, even though the tabloids are going to have a fucking field day over this.

I hope the SFA are absolutely hammered by FIFA for this blatant disregard for the rules.

The SFA meekly bending over and doing as their masters in London tell them to is almost as embarrassing as our shambolic excuse for a national team.

By way of punishment, FIFA have declared the result of the match null and void and insisted that we play it again.

Okay, not very likely - but you never know.

Why the f**k would we want to play it again? Are you mental.

Let's just take the 3 nil defeat, canna be bothered watching Darren Fletcher play hide n seek and our defence being as useful as a sieve again.
