I meant it was an ethical and moral cesspit; I thought that was obvious within the context of the post. It’s a pity you cannot differentiate between a country’s wealth and its morality.

Refusing to mount a defence only really works when they do not have other evidence. The way these cases break is that they find people in the bottom or mid tiers who have vulnerabilities, build cases they can submit to indictment on them and use that as leverage to get testimony to the next rung up. The CFO is a C level executive. That is the the CEO (chief executive office), COO (chief operations officer), CTO (chief technology officer) and CFO (chief finance officer). these either report directly to the board or sit on it. The CFO will have detailed knowledge of how the finances were disbursed and have legal liability for them. If they have enough to pressure him into giving testimony and he does not believe Trump can bail him out, its pretty big. They have a specific target with the investigation, the Russian collusion and violations of electoral law. So they can easily toss some financial misdeeds out the window as bargaining chips to make the case. Trumps organisations are likely dripping with illegal acts so building cases strong enough to arraign charges has been relatively quick. What interests me the most is that the ex CFO did not simply stay schtum and wait until he knew Trump could not waive his magic wand to pardon any conviction. It is possible the FBI pointed out the case was complex enough to last a couple of years, they have enough evidence as it is on Trump or his near associates that they could tell the exCFO that either he took the deal now or it would not be available in a few months time. It seems they could play hard ball with him and risk losing him as a witness. That fat orange fucker is likely sweating in his sleep.

Michael Flynn would be a lot wealthier today if he just taken the fifth. He's a crazy war criminal though so f**k him. My point is though that these kind of people have no reason to cooperate in any capacity unless they receive something in return. You are assuming they are being granted immunity in return for incriminating evidence but it's just as likely to be for getting them to confirm their names.

Immunity isn't something that prosecuters want to throw about and it is subject to agreeing what evidence is being presented. If the prosecution don't think that the evidence will advance their case, there is no incentive for them to offer it. They don't offer these things until they know what crimes they are protecting people from and what evidence they actually have.

Given that Cohen and Manafort and Flynn are all utterly fucked, the question is why do they need these Trump associates to testify? The answer is that there’s a case being brought against a higher target. Who is higher than Cohen, Manafort or Flynn? The answer to that should be obvious.

Roger Stone's busy telling anyone who'll listen that he thinks Mueller's next move is to indict Don Jr for lying to the FBI. What this actually means is Mueller is right up Stone's arse and he wants Trump to fire Rosenstein ASAP.
