Granny Danger
Jeff Sessions hitting back, Cohen subpoenaed in the Trump Foundation investigation (state not federal); it’s all happening at the same time. Biggly trouble.
Bandstand
Pecker being granted immunity can only mean he and Trump or Cohen have been caught on tape breaking federal law This guy has been keeping Trump scandals out of the news for decades it's big news that he's turning

dorlomin
Pecker turns on Trump. Given the places he has likely shoved it, you are not surprised.

O'Kelly Isley III
I said when Trump was elected that his presidency would mirror the plot of this worth-watching movie, and events this week are affirming that.... https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0050371/
BFTD
Cheer up, lads. We might have another six years of this to watch from across the Atlantic. Just imagine what they'll be justifying by the end of the second term. You can't buy this kind of entertainment.

Detournement
Gary Younge on the money as usual https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2018/aug/24/donald-trump-voters-impeachment-legal Quote An intensification of his legal problems may well lead to his political support softening: Republican leaders are already telling candidates in marginal seats to distance themselves from Trump. But they are unlikely, on their own, to result in his base’s collapse. To understand why, one must first rescue Trump supporters from caricature. Covering the presidential elections from Muncie, Indiana I was struck by how many of those who voted for him didn’t particularly like him. Among other things they described him as “garbage”, a “bully” and an “arrogant SOB”. “Unlike Hillary, at least he hasn’t done something criminal,” said one. When I went back a year after his inauguration they still didn’t like him that much. “He just keeps opening his mouth and spews out word-vomit and I cringe,” said one. “He’s completely embarrassed the United States more than a handful of times.” “He’s like your drunk uncle at a party,” said another. But to a person they thought he was doing a good job, pointing to his tax cuts, deregulation, supreme court nominations and stock market highs as evidence. As one woman put it: “He wouldn’t be someone I’d want to socialise with. I don’t appreciate his bad manners and his bullying. But I do appreciate his business and negotiating skills.” It was as though they had elected not a president but a CEO, and felt that you don’t have to like your boss so long as he keeps the company healthy. As Cathy De Grazia told the BBC: “I don’t care if he paid off a porn star or a Playboy bunny, that doesn’t impact his policymaking.”

Granny Danger
The one positive that has come from the Trump presidency is the exposure of many ‘ordinary’ US citizens as being hypocritical, venal, immoral and ever so selfish. This may not come as a shock to most posters on here but to those with less of an interest in politics and who may view the USA through rose coloured glasses it may be enlightening. In particular the zealot Christians who will turn a blind eye to all sorts of ‘immoral’ behaviour for a man they see as being anti-abortion is depressingly not surprising. There are millions of decent folk in the USA but as a whole the place is a cesspit.

Nothing is as simple as your tiny brain makes out.
