Obviously he didn't travel twenty miles to defend himself, but found himself in a position where he had to defend himself once he got there.

Handy that he had to defend himself just outside his friends house and that it happened to have an an automatic weapon stored there.

No, you all don't understand. He went to his friend's house, and as a HUGE black lives matter supporter wanted to join the demo, but brought his AR15 along in case anyone got a bit rowdy, just to keep everyone safe. Whether he fantasised about killing people with it (as documented) is irrelevant.

He had his gun for self defense, and it's just as well he did considering the attack on him that the footage clearly shows.
