What would probably get you is a car crash. We have to drive a bunch more here. That would be the bigger leap in danger from moving from the UK to the US. I have been to the United States loads of times and my work means I typically go at least once a year. I will always remember the story of that guy from Aberdeen who was visiting Houston. He was in a taxi with some work colleagues and suddenly he decided he did not want to be with them. He got out of the taxi, went to a house nearby and banged on the door. The owner thinking it might be a burglar, shot him through his own door - and the Scottish guy was killed. I accept this might be unusual but it only has to happen to you once and that's it. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/scot-is-shot-dead-when-mistaken-for-prowler-1405505.html

Indeed if you are killed it only needs to happen once. Joking aside I have never visited the US although there are places I would love to see, but too large a percentage of US citizens are fucking nut jobs IMO and it puts me off. What's worse is that they appear to think that they are the most advanced democratic civilisation ever; how's that for a complete lack of self awareness.

I've got lots of American relatives, and it's always a bit weird visiting. The warmest, friendliest people I've ever met were the people I met when I was staying in Georgia. I'd go to people's houses, they'd make me feel like one of the family, and then occasionally discussions would get political, and they'd come out with views that most Europeans would find completely insane.

On what basis? Unpopularity, crassness and incompetence are not grounds for impeachment. They are grounds for voting out, but that's not for another three years. Short of the investigation turning up something seriously scandalous, he's not going to be impeached, which would be the first step in him leaving office.
