Maybe, maybe not.

Definitely. Unemployment was hitting 4m and her poll numbers were in the shitter. All the things that had put Labour out of office were getting worse, not better. After the Falklands her popularity shot through the roof.

That doesn't account for the bulk of the 27 years out of the last 40 where the Tories have been in power or power-sharing.

You seem confused as to what this conversation is about (the seventies)

Could a mod please pop the last couple of pages into What's the point of Labour thread please?

Labour have fucked it in Scotland.  End of story. They've taken the country for granted, won't move on independence, rode in with the tories and are hooked in to a UK party that couldn't decide whether it would like milk, lemonade or chocolate.

Fucking. Useless.

You're getting confused.  We don’t elect a Prime Minister.

I was using shorthand but you know fine well that an elected Labour government is a rare thing and only two leaders have managed that since Atlee. I sympathize that you've invested a great deal of your adult life in an misplaced ideal.

New Panelbase poll for Holyrood:

So 7% will vote for a party that has only one policy and that policy has nothing to do with the areas of responsibility of the Scottish Parliament.  It’s fucking depressing.

Otherwise encouraging.  SLAB are fucked.

Just short of a majority, but independence majority

Would rather it was an SNP majority. Don't like the idea of the SNP caving into more looney green policies because there's nobody else to work with.

Or it’s actually a bloody good thing that the environment is taking more of a priority in the parliament!

Yep, lets save the environment..... by taxing workers on minimum wage to park their cars outside work. Then lets damage the SNPs reputation by introducing poorly thought out legislation that looks good on the surface, that way when the SNP rightfully rejects the legislation, it looks bad to the thick general public.

Patrick Harris wants to abandon work on the A9 and A96.

In a world where we are going to have electric cars charged with renewable energy, Patrick wants to persist with an agenda that would abandon the Highlands to lairdism and vested interests.

SNP nigh on 50% in two sub polls. Intersting that Brexit Party bomb in one and the Tories jump to 28%.

The only conclusion that I can draw from that (assuming it’s not an outlier) is that the nut jobs realise that a vote for the Brexit Party is wasted in Scotland and have reverted to their natural home.

BTW 133 is a small sub sample.
