LongTimeLurker
Tom Johnston got out-manouvered by the LL and SFA where Option Z was concerned. One out of the EoS and the SJFA had to be removed from the equation in terms of being part of a consensus for further progress to be made because their postures on east feeders could not be reconciled. Option Z made it appear to be the EoS that would be left out of the loop as a split LL would take away their promotion playoff veto, but it really appears to have been used as an excuse to collapse the PWG completely and clear the way for the LL to launch a west feeder thus permanently removing the SJFA from the equation. The EOS didn't stop option Z though. It was never a serious option in the first place...
LongTimeLurker
It was the LL that stopped option Z by having no interest in splitting. -

Deanburn Dave
Rambling meaningless pish. You're being kind mate. Threatening the SFA with Court won't go down well.

That ignores the fact that the LL couldn't split and the boundary couldn't have changed without the approval of the HL & SPFL. The LL were not in a position to agree to it.
LongTimeLurker
No idea why you would see any of that as being important when the lynchpin to it working in the way that could have got the SJFA into the pyramid was splitting the LL so the EoS's playoff format change veto was no longer applicable. No split LL because LL are opposed & SJFA will only back Option Z = EoS still has a veto & no SJFA entry = complete impasse = SFA pull the plug on the PWG in time to allow LL to launch WoS for 2030-21. Over and out in terms of follow ups on this point.

Over and out in terms of follow ups on this point.Let it go. The sjfa had an open goal in the west and chose, yes chose, to ignore it.They wanted their cake, a say over the music at the party and a seating plan that meant they were the only real benefactors.Their approach was doomed to fail. The LL were under no obligation to split, the eos and sos were under no obligation to agree to any of the 4 options the sjfa presented to its clubs. The sjfa appear under the impression the sfa can step in an 'fix' things, they cant, that's the whole reason it is set up the way it is.When you are joining anything in life, a gym, a club or a business project you join within the bounds of what is already in place. What you cant do is demand the current processes to change, have a meltdown when they dont change or let you in, then threaten legal action when other people want to join and potentially delay those that want to join because you aren't happy with the situation you created yourself. The clubs have been let down badly throughout this entire process.

It just shows however how open a goal the SJFA had to enter the Pyramid, and how they completely swung and missed, particularly in light of todays reports.

No. It was the SPFL which didn't want more than one Feeder League, let alone two …….. so three was never in play! That's simple to follow. Isn't it?

Andy groundhopper
Not sure if all junior clubs have an ambition to reach the top of a pyramid, the spfl, with all the costs of travelling, updating grounds etc.As in England it sounds nice but with very little help on committee's etc - too many clubs have folded. Natural progression is win a league and go up but not at the club's expense. -
