No idea on the numbers but I think the 'SNP till indy but not because of SNP policy' voting bloc is probably quite substantial.

May will be interesting. I still expect the SNP to be the largest party, but I wonder how many of those you speak of above will have lost faith in the SNP to actually achieve Independence, and start to look elsewhere.

Probably. But they shouldn't feel to comfortable with that. They only have 7 MSPs more than Lab + Con combined in Holyrood.

Once the fallout from unemployment and Brexit hits, attitudes might change.

I wouldn't be too surprised to see some of those borderline yes/no voters flip back to NO, on the basis of Covid-19 + Brexit + Independence being just too much instability, and vote for a pro-union party instead.

Thus far as far as I've seen there are about twice as many no to yes as there are yes to no. Will be interesting to see what Brexit does. I imagine they were preparing to borrow/QE a great deal to cushion the impact, can they still do that after covid? There seems to be some groundwork being laid for austerity mark 2 from the treasury already. There won't be many dishy Rishi puff pieces next year I expect.

Can only see that pushing even more no and dk to yes.

Austerity is surely inevitable in Scotland either within the UK or out of it.

Covid-19 has killed any chance of Independence for years.

I just can't see people who just about get through the turbulance of 2020, and immediately have to get through the turbulance of Brexit, voting to go through it a third time in a few years.

This is presuming that the " turbulence" of brexit cannot be offset by the "turbulence" of independence

Which is awful news for the survival of the UK, considering the primary argument against independence in 2014 was to avoid austerity. If the tune has changed to "well there's going to be austerity regardless", then you can kiss the UK goodbye.

Austerity measures in an independent Scotland is so much better...

In 2014 we didn't have a FM who had closed certain sectors for 6 months plus, causing a rise in unemployment and a crash in GDP

Given that most of the crucial Covid decision making was made in Westminster, and all of this insane Brexit experiment, why do you think this isn't a good time to jump off the ship? The Captain is clueless, his adviser is demented and we're heading for the iceberg on December 31st.

Correct. Now you're starting to get it. If there's going to be austerity in our own country, then our own country should be in control of where the axe falls, not another country under another government that we don't vote for.

austerity measures can, you know, be implemented and structured differently depending on who is making the decisions. there is not one consistent uniformed approach to it as you are bizarrely suggesting,

But remember Welshbairn that no matter how shite things get in the UK, it will be even shitier in an Independent Scotland!

Amazing man can see week into England's future by watching Scottish news

AN incredible prophet can see a week into the future of England by watching the news on BBC Scotland.

Nathan Muir of Hitchin has wowed friends with his incredible prognostication abilities but insists he is not psychic but just able to read the future by seeing what Nicola Sturgeon does.

More means of production to seize when we become independent imo.

Nah, that’s too hard. Things will just get sorted when the Tories deliver a hard Brexit and then something something and then socialism for the whole UK, yay.

"On Tuesday, the four nations of the United Kingdom agreed a statement committing them in principle to a common strategy of “suppressing the virus to the lowest possible level and keeping it there”. But when Boris Johnson and Nicola Sturgeon stood before their respective parliaments that same day and announced the concrete measures they were introducing to stem spiralling infections the unified strategy was nowhere to be seen."
