CLYDE FC Season 2017-18 Thread

This is a red line for me lads. We sign him and I'm done until Chapman's gone.

Anyone who thinks that's an extreme position should watch this video. Raffi Krissian is Annan's number six. I'm sure he's a lovely bloke. He's not defender of any description however. If we signed him, we'd be doing something seemingly impossible: worsening our options at the back.

The only people that seem to think we're signing this guy is Annan fans who still seem to have heir knickers in a twist over Chapman taking a number of their squad from last year.

The lad could be on his way back to France for all anyone knows right now.

Yeah it's just speculation and let's hope it stays like that [emoji23]

Ok the lad had an off day. You lot seem to forget that most the players your slagging off, even your own now, came close to promotion last year whilst you lot were fighting relegation. Maybe this year you could drag another group of players down with your great support and be in the same position next summer. Keep up the good work lads [emoji106]

So why would he bring in a coach he didn't know ?

So you have to know someone before you bring them to the club , so what happens when you run out of people you know ?

This guy is supposed to have contacts throughout Scotland [emoji23]

His contacts don't extend further than the galabank car park [emoji6]

Anyway never know it might work

So you think he should go out and hire a guy he's heard is decent and hope it works out ?

Of course he is going to hire guys he's worked with previously, any new manager would.

But my point was  Clyde fans queueing up to have a pop at anything and everything when the guy is just in the door.

But then we are Clyde fans eh.

Seriously though not think it's a bit narrow thinking to just to sign players who have played for your ex team or players who have played for him before ?

Ok let's see if it works out

We recently came within a goal of promotion with Steven Brisbane in our team. You fancy signing him?

As for the off day claim, if you take away games against Clyde, Cowdenbeath and East Stirling - all woeful teams last season - your man's played in a total of three games wherein Annan have kept a clean sheet. That'd be out of roughly 20. And, in one of those three, Dumbarton played most of it with ten men; their striker was sent off.

Let's suppose you can find those kind of stats in re of a genuinely good defender though. And you probably could. Anyone can go watch the highlights of other matches. Your dubbing at Formartine for example. Shipping four to Forfar. Five to Celtic U-20s. And any other match in-between where there's been a smaller margin.

True off days are characterised by bad luck. Nothing about the way your man played against Ayr could be attributed to luck.
