St Mirren are to us what Morton are to you. Nuisance value. Anyway I am out of here. Best of luck in the cup semi final - seriously You’ve not won a major trophy this century. How does it feel to know that wee diddy clubs like St Johnstone, St Mirren, Livingston, Ross County, ICT, Kilmarnock and The Rangers have all achieved it and you’ve not.

Exiledjag
Can anyone tell me what's happened to Brophy! Haven't seen his name in a match squad for a while. Is he injured?

Is he injured? He played his first 6 games for us with an undiagnosed hairline fracture in his foot that he'd been carrying about a while and been out since then which is about 3 months at this point. He missed almost all of the games in the February run. There's been talk that he's nearly good to go for the last couple of weeks so hopefully he'll be back in before end of the season.
Ric
Seems like Maurice Ross doesn't limit his "loose lips" policy to St Mirren.. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/maurice-ross-sacked-notts-county-24031512
Coventry Saint
So, erm... we're apparently not allowed to play in Europe even if we qualify. Surely this'll be corrected. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/local-sport/st-mirren-seek-clarification-after-24034262
Ric
Be interesting to know what exactly we need to sort out. Wasn't Livi's issue to do with youth development or something? Can't see that being our problem.

Looks like we’ve scored higher than other clubs that have been granted it - so they just assuming we wouldn’t need one?

buddie06smfc
There is a 177 page Scottish Football Governance Manual accompanying the decision paper on the SFA website, probably not worth the paper it’s written on. It contains a tremendously horrendous process map for the decision process. However also states, the tribunal/appeal period is 5-25 May. Maybe we can hold off until after Sunday before appealing. It does seem like a farcical decision when comparing to St Johnstone & Dundee Utd. Then again, that’s the governing bodies of football in this country and Europe all over.

The grades on the SFA document are not relevant to the granting or otherwise of a UEFA license - those are SFA licensing categories. The UEFA license is granted through a series of entirely separate guidelines.

Obika on twitter saying it's youth program .we have the exact same Criteria as St Johnstone who got it something fishy going on .He seems pretty confident it will be over turned I wouldn't bet on it with the clowns that run our game. There are two separate licensing processes here, with two separate sets of rules. The SFA have their Club Licensing process which applies to essentially every senior club in Scotland. You need to have some form of license to qualify automatically the Scottish Cup and to play in the Highland/Lowland League or above. There are also various other minimum licensing criteria to play at different levels of the SPFL. UEFA have their UEFA License which applies to any club wishing to play in UEFA competition. The SFA administer this process on behalf of UEFA, but UEFA are ultimately responsible for setting the rules. The criteria for the UEFA license are different to those for the SFA license, and being awarded an SFA one at a particular level does not necessarily imply that you will meet the related criteria for UEFA. Without knowing exactly which of the UEFA criteria St Mirren have fallen short of, it is not easy to know exactly why this decision has been reached. However, I would be fairly confident that a club would get a license if they do qualify, barring some major shenanigans in the background which we don't know about (something which is much more likely for Livingston or Accies than St Mirren).
