SPFL have confirmed we've been on the receiving end of 3 dodgy decisions -

Bolton's red card v Dundee (didnt affect result but meant he missed game away at Livi, which we lost);

Penalty we should have had for handball in the away Ross County game;

Penalty we should have had for foul on McMenamin v Hearts.

I now fully expect us to get everything going on Saturday, if it truly does "even itself out over a season".

Are Dundee not one of the few teams that have been shafted even more than us by VAR/Refs this season though?

Any clues who Crystal Palace like the look of ?

They were linked with Sutherland when the Chelsea/Man City story broke but it was pretty much looked over.

The Bolton one is particularly annoying as the red was given, the VAR told the referee to go to the monitor and review as it was probably not a red and the referee stuck with the decision.

We then spent money appealing the decision and getting the red overturned....and it was fucking upheld!

So not only is the decision incorrect, the advice was to overturn and that was ignored, then there was an appeal to overturn and that too was ignored and now a couple of months later, it comes out that they got it wrong. How the f**k does that fly?!

If I recall correctly Bolton was already on a yellow when he made the tackle so was always going off, however leaving it as a red allowed the appeal option and let us waste money. Not sure if his suspension ended up being longer due to it being a red rather than a double yellow.

They did a review for the Hearts one too. For Bolton's card there is clearly something up with the appeals process where they can say VAR official was right to recommend review, it was an error and the appeal is still rejected?

As much as VAR is getting knocked and it should have picked up the Ross County one, when VAR officials are correctly intervening to fix an error yet the on-field referee makes the wrong decision after watching it several times, it's hard to defend them and makes them seem either arrogant or incompetent.

Send us back the £2k appeal money for our troubles

All of these decisions highlight the futility of VAR. We've got multiple, qualified officials, viewing these incidents numerous times, from different angles, yet still arriving at different conclusions.

What chance have we got? Too many decisions are completely subjective.

It's possibly down to how they arrive at final decisions once the on-field ref is sent to the monitor.......I know the arguments against it but if the discussions were heard aloud (rugby style) then it might have a baring on getting to the correct decision (not that mistakes don't happen there either).

To be fair, the Bolton one didn't help Dundee at the time, it would have been a red card either way. It helped Livi in the next game though as he was suspended when he shouldn't have been.

That would make me paranoid but I'm already a ways down that road!

Just on the radio panel review on the season so far regarding VAR. St Mirren have had the most wrong decisions made against us.

You are correct and Killie have been the most favoured.

I propose a point for each incorrect decision - +1 for the 4 against us and -1 for the 5 ones that favoured Killie...

Now we are back in 4th.

Joking aside, the point of VAR was to prevent most bad decisions that cost teams points.

The system needs fixed.

The system is absolutely fine.

It's the incompetents controlling it that's the problem.

Pish.

The "system" requires human input and decision making, which creates inconsistency, that makes it no better than just simply reffing a game as before.

The only technology like this in football should be goal line technology.

Hard agree.

If the tech was fine then we would have had a definitive view of that over-the-line goal against Dundee (last season) or of Miovski's penalty.
