The European football level St. Mirren FC 2024/25 thread

Reading the club vision/mission statement.

A lot of wordy and wanky office terminology but the overall strategy is pretty sound and exciting.

Seems like the club is wanting to follow the Nordsjaelland or Bodo/Glimt path to success through sustainable improvement and build a proper culture at the club.

I think Lasley's statement failed to mention our commitment to continue pillaging onfield talent from Ireland and Australia.

Lots of nice words & good intentions Saints but let’s see how you put it into action . Let’s start with this one . If you’re serious about Zero tolerance, how bout we gradually cut the ugly sisters allocation every time they start with the party songs ?

Totally agree. About time clubs took a stance and start to impose their own sanctions. They are a blight on our country

100% agree with the sentiment, but we’d all have to accept that we were doing it solely for reasons of decency and acting as a trailblazer, because financially the only team it would hurt would be us (unless of course we didn’t let any of them in and could fill the north stand with our own fans).

It would not hurt Rangers in any way shape or form and sadly would probably only serve to galvanise their own warped sense of injustice.

Totally agree.

We could also start closer to home and try and get more diversity on our own board, so its not made up exclusively of white middle aged men.

I'm 54, so i refuse to accept that people in their 60's are old as i'm almost there.

Not long until your free bus travel. 😂

So when are you applying to go on the board?

You might even get into the Hall of Fame as it seems that is a qualification these days.

….only if those who are ‘diverse’ are the proper, qualified, and right people for the job. Personally, I don’t give a flying fcuk if anyone at the club, in any position, is any particular colour, religion, sexual orientation, or was born in Inverclyde, but I don’t agree that we should shoehorn someone into any position to tick some sort of box.

Edit to add - not suggesting that’s what you are personally advocating. Just in general terms, appoint the right person for the job.
