They already have a license, though, versus looking to obtain one to join the SPFL. Does that change anything? welshbairn
Anders Povlsen might buy the club if wolves are allowed to roam free in the carpark.
bdu98196
With freeport status can we sell off the lease terms left on the land and get enough to clear debts and move site/start fresh? Do we have no other assets as even our players are worth nothing as we dont have any young talent under contracts who would draw suitors.
Rcfc fan
As a county fan genuinely wishing you guys all the best, must be sickening as it’s clear to see blatant mismanagement at every juncture

The newco bought the assets, including SFA membership of the existing club, rather than the Airdrie or Gretna situation where a completely new club started afresh with no connection to the previous one.
The Great Stagsby
That last sentence "FOR CLARITY..."??! As if somebody had simply got the wrong end of the stick when you previously announced "We're moving training to Kelty." Painful stuff.
SandyCromarty
Top of the statement the board say they're in talks with potential new investors which I think may be a red herring considering that new investors would have to take on a load of debt, but not only that a football club in a state of flux presently with little funds, no first team and a threatening fans boycott of Season Tickets. For me the only investment possible can only be from three candidates, Sutherland, Savage and McGilvray individually or preferably by an amalgamation.

The ground is just outside the Freeport zone, and the council would have to agree to any change to the lease.

PB1994
I would imagine about 90% of the debt we owe would be to our Directors. The only way I can see an investor coming in before Administration is if the Directors we owe money to are willing to write it off or take 10p in the pound or something along those lines. Absolutely scunnered with this whole situation now.

Pens_Dark
As always its the fans who show up every weekend and show their commitment to the club that suffer because of the mismanagement by the few. It looks imminent, it's horrible and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Not even United...I think. Hopefully it all works out in the end.
SirJimmyofNic
It looks like the only way out is administration, and whatever pence in the pound the directors can claw back (if indeed they are 100% the main creditors) after all its them that's made the colossal financial feck ups, and again that's only if administrators can find a suitable buyer/buyers Really feel for you guys hope it all ends well for you

What did Morton achieve with their debts.................jobbing around obscurity in the Championship being a notable highlight? Fact that as a club Morton have only recently started to get their own shit together and house in order is testament that this is the overwhelming model within Scottish (and beyond) football - there is little to no sustainability at any level. Without picking holes the reality is that Morton were only 3 points themselves from being in a play-off place. For any sustainable club and how long do the fanbase accept and back a modest regime with limited spending & progress compared to those still 'bank rolled' - most will eventually turn on their current regime to push boundaries while longing for a 'sugar daddy'. I will caveat though Morton fans may be different as they have a low bar to gauge against http://stats.football.co.uk/league_history/greenock_morton/index.shtml A bizarre sequence of whataboutery and non-sequiturs, that. Looks like you too have some further progress to make in adjusting to the new normal for the failing Highland franchise.
TheScarf
This is why fan ownership in football is so important.
