That they earned by beating, among others, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid? Everyone in non-league football, senior or junior, ought to look up to Auchinleck Talbot. They've earned it. They want to stay out of the pyramid so that they can lord it over diddy teams. If they had a shred of ambition they’d be for the pyramid and the chance to move up and test themselves at a higher level. Staying where they are and collecting tin cups is what they’re all about.Clubs should always strive to play at the highest level possible. Yes Celtic and Aberdeen, they really ought to look up to Auchinleck Talbot. When Talbot win a European competition then maybe but in the meantime.........

Peterhead, Elgin,Berwick, Annan - the outposts of senior football. And you don't have to visit them once, you have to do it twice. And all played out in front of a couple of hundred fans. Madness. -

It is. And the fixtures you posted in the previous post are ridiculous also. How does it benefit the game at all? Complete waste of time, energy and money. I wonder if the LL, as it's stature increases over the next few seasons, could be split East / West so that the clubs in SPFL 2 could be brought into 3 regional tier 4 feeders (HL/ LLe/ LLw). Like they do in Denmark...

You answered your own point there less teams but it seldom happens pretty much because of the bad winter we had. Point is they were all going on about the travelling when we have to do that on monday

Imagine Forfar West End v Dunbar being played on a Monday night...

This is exactly what was mentioned in the Henry McLeish report into Scottish Football, where, from memory, he cited a youth fixture going from Dumbarton to Elgin in a minibus for a 90 minute game of football at great expense
Vollyman
If it's accurate then probably Thornton Hibs will be in the running for Superleague next season! Game is up in the East for the SJFA. The game is up in the East, what a load of nonsense there will still be around 45 clubs competing in The East region.Losing teams like Bonnyrigg and Kelty Musselburgh is sad but the rest of the teams moving with illusions of grandeur will not improve the standard in the East of Scotland.

And you're saying that apart from Bonnyrigg and Musselburgh the rest teams moving over to the EoS are worse than Tweedmouth? Whether they improve the standard, prosper or wither and die is irrelevant. It’s the fact they’ve left junior fitba that’s key. And as burnie says, it leaves the east juniors in a position where the games up. Even the dale could be in the top league soon it’s that bad.....
