welldaft
Actually worth noting that Basel are ranked higher even than Sp Lisbon and PSV. In fact they are ranked higher than every team bar Spurs. So one to avoid for Motherwell. There I have gone and jinxed it. Away to Basel it is.....

RussellAnderson
Copenhagen are a bunch of fuckin diddies, any team not at least putting three or four past them really have to take a long hard look at themselves. European minnows of the lowest order. Cannon fodder. Serfs.
Guest Bob Mahelp
A bit of the shitty end of the stick there for the Dons if we manage to get past Viking. Saying that, Rangers could have had easier unseeded teams. A few potential banana skins in there, especially Hammerby and Lech. Yup. Malmo's ranking is based on 4 seasons in Europe, which got them 8,7, 6 and 1 point. Milan's is based on just 2 seasons in Europe, in which they got 12 and 7 points. It's obviously easier to qualify from Sweden than Italy.

Phillips455
Btw, the motherwell draw will take place after the Aberdeen and Rangers draws as we are in a group of 8. That means the number pairs will be different (just like the 1st round draw). Edited September 1, 2020 by Phillips455

tarapoa
UEFA are having a laugh with this season's Europa League - and they're having a laugh at our expense. I think we would be taking a couple of thousand to both the oilfield trash derby in Stavanger and to Lisbon had circumstances allowed as well. Still - since QR3 is our glass ceiling, and a tough ask to reach this season even as QR2 seeds - it may as well be a biggie...... -b-b-but it's a disgrace that more Scots clubs don't make the group stages apparently. jamamafegan
-b-b-but it's a disgrace that more Scots clubs don't make the group stages apparently.Yep, Scottish fans can’t really have any complaints if Aberdeen and Motherwell are pumped out in QR3. The standard of teams in that round is absolutely ridiculous and there’s still the play-off round after that! PSV and Sporting Lisbon? These are teams you’d expect to meet in the group stages not in the qualifiers. It’s a disgrace that this is the way it’s set up. UEFA and our own league set up take the blame for this. If our league wasn’t so weak we wouldn’t have folk crossing their fingers for the Old Firm to boost the coefficient. Shambolic state of affairs.

Shambolic state of affairs.Shouldn't the likes of PSV and Sporting be in the early qualifying rounds though? They were both 4th in their league when they finished/stopped. Them playing against the 4th team in Scotland sounds....normal?We can't on one hand complain that the top leagues get automatic group spots and then also complain when we get drawn against them in qualifying. There's not many alternatives other than removing seeding. The cat's out the bag and there's nothing we can really do about the money side of the game anymore. Not UEFA wide anyway. The hard salary caps as seen in League 1 and 2 in England will be gone in a few years, assuming it survives the inevitable court cases.
