QP + Third Lanark had also been in Scandinavia. These matches were Scotland's first-ever games abroad: There were actually 2 games v Norway but for some reason 2nd meeting 48hrs later wasn't capped by SFA... indeed among our opponents only Germany awarded caps: Edited June 1 by HibeeJibee

Ordinarily I would have been born in Aberdeen RI but that was out of the question due to the typhoid outbreak so I was born in Inverurie instead. I didnt dicover until many years later that I spent the first 3 months of my life out at Tarland with my mum at friends of the family.

Eednud
Denis Law scores a hat trick for Scotland on 4 June 1963 in Bergen but Norway win 4-3. Some of the action on the video below. Five days later Scotland lost 0-1 in Dublin then on the 13th beat Spain 6-2 in Madrid. Norway’s number 7 Ronald Jensen was signed by Hearts in 1964/65 and spent 7 seasons at Tynecastle. Eednud
Match 278) 5th June 1960 (Friendly match) HUNGARY - SCOTLAND 3-3 (1-1) Referee: Arthur Edward Ellis (England) Crowd: 90.000, Nepstadion, Budapest Goals: 1-0 Sandor (19), 1-1 Hunter (34), 1-2 Herd (62), 1-3 Young (66), 2-3 Gorocs (71), 3-3 Tichy (90+2) HUNGARY: (Coach: Lajos Baroti) Gyula Grosics [c] - Sandor Matrai, Ferenc Sipos - Jeno Dalnoki, Dezso Bundzsak, Antal Kotasz - Karoly Sandor, Janos Gorocs, Florian Albert, Lajos Tichy, Mate Fenyvesi. SCOTLAND: (Manager: Andrew Beattie/16) William Dallas Fyfe Brown (9/Tottenham Hotspur) - Duncan MacKay (8/Celtic) Eric Caldow (24/Rangers) - John Cumming (8/Heart of Midlothian) Robert Evans [c] (47/Chelsea) David Craig Mackay (11/Tottenham Hotspur) - Graham Leggat (18/Fulham) George Herd (2/Clyde) Alexander Young (3/Heart of Midlothian) William Hunter (1/Motherwell) Andrew Best Weir (5/Motherwell) Notes: Lajos Tichy's 12th minute penalty kick went wide. Not all the goals are shown in the video although a few excitable spectators. There was a link to a Hungarian site where they have the attendance as 85,000 and Scotland’s second goal an own goal by Jeno Dalnoki. Interesting drawings of four Scottish players in what I assume was a preview of the game. This was the second match and best result of the tour as Scotland lost 1-4 to Austria in Vienna a week earlier then 2-4 to Turkey in Ankara three days after the Hungary game.
